How bad will Burnett be tonight?  Will he give up the homer on the first or second pitch?
He tried for the second pitch :)

Why is MASN showing us the CUBS' 7th inning stretch celebration???

It's a novelty?

If Burnett can get through here unscathed, we have Clip and Storen to slam the door.

Because they're only in the bottom of the 5th at St. Louis.

And you think that's a ball?  In the middle of a no-hitter?

It was out of the strikezone, so yes, I think it's a ball. I didn't think it was close enough to get the "no-no I've earned this strike" strike call.

Garza got two almost that far off the plate, though, so whatevs.

Wang's ERA is down to 3.60 from 6.00.  That's what happens when you've only started three games and one of them is really good.

It's a novelty?

A tradition of HC leading the crowd in "Take Me Out to the Ballgame". Did it for many many years. When Carray died, it seems that the Cubs have continued.

And the talk with Ferguson Jenkins is a treat for those my age. When I went to college in Chicago (1966) I decided that the Cubs were the Nats of the NL. Cheered like crazy the summer of '67 when the Cubs were good for the first time in about 70 years. Jenkins pitched great, to Randy Hundley, in front of Ron Santo, Don Kessinger, Glen Beckert, Mr Cub Let's Play  Two Ernie Banks, and Billy Williams. Fine team until they went down to St Louis where they melted against Gibson and Brock and Flood and the rest. I think Roger Maris was on that Cards team...maybe Orlando Cepeda also.

If you're going to take credit for the one you got right, man up when you get one wrong.

With the parade of yutz's they've carted out over the years after Carey died, it's no more than a novelty now.

You don't anticipate a home run being given up every time Burnett steps on the mound?  Really?
