Regarding the Red Sox looking at Desi stuff, here the SoSh thread on it:
http://sonsofsamhorn.net/topic/66896-nats-shopping-ian-desmond-sox-a-fit/

The conclusion is :hang: :spazz: from a Sox perspective.  This looks like due diligence and nothing more.  The line about his defense seems to have been a little slow in picking up the trend after April, but other than that, it looks right.

I don't freaking care.

That makes no sense. Laroche is not going to the bench making what he's making in 2012. You're as bad as your brother.

If we trade Marquis, I really hope it's to the Tigers. They have A LOT of good relievers in the minors. Bruce Rondon (basically another H-Rod, but only 20) and Ryan Strieby (possibly the next Michael Morse) would be a great return, IMO.

Fu Te Ni.  Just so we can say "Ni" when he pitches.

we'd have to send Clippard, Hood, Ray, and probably a couple of more players.

If we ship Clippard to the Twins we can package him with the surplus Clip & Save t-shirts from last year's promotion.

Note the part at the bottom where I don't take any of this crap seriously until something happens.

Here's an idea: Ian Desmond and Ross Detwiler for Denard Span. We may be getting the better end of the deal, in which case you add in a mediocre prospect I suppose... thoughts?

I'd do it. I'm not the GM though.

I think they'd do that trade if it was Desmond, Detwiler, and Marrero.

I wouldn't do it for Ronny's proposal, but it'd definitely have to be more than Desmond and Detwiler.

If Rizzo manages to swing Desmond as part of a package for Upton/Span/Rasmus and doesn't give up too much of the farm, then I'll be absolutely thrilled.

The information here is TOTALLY in the wrong place but it's tangentially deadline related...

Maya's line tonight, (he was just taken out of the game, with no outs, runners on 1st and 2nd):

3IP, 8H, 6R, 6ER, 3BB, 3SO, 2HR

How in the hell can we trust the man who signed this unmitigated bum making trades???  >:(

LOL, pretty sure he's the same man who traded Matt Capps for Wilson Ramos.

Ridiculous, it simply illustrates AGAIN that Rizzo has done some good things, Capps for Ramos and some bad things, signing Maya. It's not a black and white situation.

The Extremeskins mentality around here is getting really tiresome

The Yunesky Maya signing is more bad than the Wilson Ramos trade is good.  It doesn't make him even.  He's still on the negative side.

And yes, this is the "evidence" people will keep falling back on.
