Yeah Im really surprised Tobias is still on the board. He was mentioned as one of the best HS players in the country probably 10 months ago. A lot of talent there. Short and somewhat stocky build, but talented.

He's definitely not a SS. Would need a lot of work even to play second. Probably an outfielder.

Billy Burns OF Mercer University. A redraft apparently. 16th round by the Braves out of HS.

Burns seems like one of those scrappy leadoff types. 5'8/9. Hit .356 for Mercer with a .476 OBP. 39BB, 14HBP(!), 29 K's in 58 games. 29/32 on steals.

3 players from CS Dominguez Hills in the last 6 picks or so. Kind of crazy for teammates to go so close together. D2 school out here.

Not listening but this is the time for nepotism in the draft

Positive thing is, he's at least 2 years younger than Whiting was when he was selected.

31-50 ... otherwise known as the time to fill the bench/bullpen in Auburn and GCL

Guys, keep an eye out for Stephen Oswald, and let me know if he gets drafted.

I doubt he will, but I work with his sister, and he put up decent numbers this year for GW.

BA

San Diego struggled this season, and its two best arms—Chris Jensen and Calvin Drummond—were up and down, though they flashed intriguing potential. Jensen has spent most of his college career as a reliever thanks to inconsistent command, but he made 11 starts in his 17 appearances this spring, going 3-6, 3.84 with 70 strikeouts and 34 walks in 75 innings. He has a strong arm, regularly sitting 92-93 mph and touching 94-95 now and then. He flashes a good power slurve, though it flattens out at times, and he mixes in an occasional split-finger. Scouts say his short, rigid arm action and high slot hamper his command.

Well, if they throw money at Tobias he's a prospect, no?

Calvin Drummond, P, San Diego.

Kind of interesting ... His numbers in HS, JuCo, and college are nothing special. Im from the area of his HS/JuCo teams, and played against them(Im 30 so not against HIM, but the schools). While the area is loaded with talent, his numbers are average at best. I know it's late, and stats aren't everything, but still doesn't seem like anything more than average.

Id love to go big on Davis. Were now getting into the range of guys that may not even come back for the 2012 season. So we might as well go big. If we don't sign the kid, then we can fill in the spot with a UDFA.

I'd place the odds at really long. HS guys grabbed this late rarely sign. Not impossible, but I would not consider it a shock if he heads to Florida
