his father, Bill, was a first round pick of the California Angels in 1980, and pitched professionally for nine years in the Angels, Milwaukee Brewers and Oakland Athletics organizations ... spent the 1986 season in the majors with Oakland, making 45 appearances (six starts)

while I'd love to see them sign Mooneyham, I gotta believe a guy with that resume who attends Stanford who gets drafted in the 38th round goes back to school

Mooneyham is a real talent. While he doesnt have overpowering stuff like Meyer, you saw how Meyer improved as a junior. Hopefully he's looking to take the leap to pro ball.

This article says his dad was a 4 time 1st rounder!

Bleeker has some interesting talent if we can get him signed.

The Nationals have offered a signing bonus of $40,000 worth of orange Tic Tacs.

Florida just took Trent Gilbert from Torrance, Ca. I work in Torrance. I never even knew they had a kid that legit. Last year they had a kid selected by the Yankees pretty early. On a semi related note, that's the HS where they filmed Bevery Hills, 90210 and the current 90210, fyi.

Any guesses on what it will take to sign Purke?  He'll get the record for 3rd round picks, I would think.  That would make it records for the 1st, 3rd, and 4th (Cole) rounds for the Nats, I believe.  Not sure if Ray was a record or not.

I'll say 4.5 mil gets it done for Purke.  7 for Rendon, and 3 for Meyer and 2 for Goodwin.

That would be already 16.5 million for those 4 guys.  Not sure how many of the high schoolers they took later on they will try to sign if we get the top 4 done.

I can't wait to hear the nicknames for these guys if they suck. Pretty sure I've guessed the first one.

Can anyone tell me what notable prospects the Nats picked after the 4th round (have good potential, ones to watch for, overslot guys, etc.)
