Chiefs win, in 8 innings, 7-6 on a single by Corey Brown driving in Tag Hullett.

An extra innings win in 8 innings.

it's sad when our minor league teams are more fun to watch than our major league team sometimes.

Gotta be one of Rizzo's dumbest signings. Up there with LaRoche

Why? Because he got injured? When he has no history of serious injuries? Injuries happen. No way that signing was as bad as the Maya signing.

On a more serious note, I haven't heard much on him this year. Does somebody have his stats?

i'm excited about rosenbaum.  if he isn't going to be a part of our future we can trade him to be part of someone else's.  i like his stuff.

Does an MRI on a pitcher's elbow involve injecting fluid to show the area better?  I think this is done on at least some MRIs, and it leads to down time.  Still, it seems like  a reasonable thing to get an MRI and not worry about the time lost in the spring.
Some MRIs get an injection of dye, that's called an Arthrogram, or more simply, a contrast MRI. If you're getting an MRI, you were probably going to be resting the time it takes for the body to absorb the fluid.

I don't see the big deal, medical staff correctly diagnosed his non injury, and the long toss program worked.

Exactly. The team docs know what they are doing. They examined him, and knew what the issue was.

It'd be one thing if they refused and put it off, then found out he was seriously injured. But a dead arm is pretty common and was diagnosed correctly.

But people like the complain about anything here, so they run with whatever they want.

What is dead arm?  Serious question.

Another serious question - why not just give him an MRI?  Is there any harm in doing it?  I've gotten an MRI on my knee and they didn't inject anything - I was pretty much in and out.  Would a shoulder MRI be of the type comish4life described and require time off from pitching?  They spent lots of money signing him so spending a few extra bucks to protect the investment would make sense so the cheap argument doesn't really hold much water in my book.

for someone who has been pitching for a while, stuff will show up - not necessarily causing any problems.  However, once found, will be treated, frequently with surgery, thus ending a season.  If rest will take care of it, worth the 2-4 weeks out, rather than a lost season or possibly more
