I see that Wednesday's P-Nats game vs MB is a 10:30 AM start.  I imagine the beer sales will be a little slow.

Here's a good thread started at Sickels blog about Tom Milone: http://www.minorleagueball.com/2011/6/12/2219835/who-is-tommy-milone

So his secret is a cut fastball, eh? That seems to be a magic pitch - for those who can master it.

Milone should have been called up instead of Maya.

To be honest, every time I see Milone pitch, I'm less and less impressed.  He gets hit hard A LOT.

76 Ks to 4 BBs in 70 IP is impressive though.

Yes, his K/BB ratio is phenomenal but watch the next time he starts, there will be lots of scorched balls, all over the field.  If batters avoid being struck out, and make contact, the ball goes far.

I don't believe he can make it in the majors as hittable as he is, right now.

If he got back to ~1:1 GB/FB ratio like he had in prior years, then he would be able to get by with less than awesome stuff.  But if two out of his 3 outs come via the air, that relies a lot on balls in the air not going out.

Garrett Mock in Harrisburg - 3.1IP, 9H, 7R, 7ER, 2BB, 4SO, 0HR

...but I'll bet his bullpen session was Hall of Fame caliber!

He needs to be out of this organization.

Naw, there's a use for him. Bring him in to pitch batting practice in Hagerstown.  It'll be good for their egos, even if it hurts their development by making them think hitting professional pitching is too easy.

That should have happened along time ago to Mock.  Talk about holding on to a pitcher too long. Gee-zo Flip. The time has long past, where Mock should have been traded, released, or tendered.....period.

Dave Freitas = yet another iteration of 1B of the future?  He's up over .900 OPS.  http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=freita001dav

I hope he sticks at catcher. He's been outstanding. Would like to see him move to Potomac.

What's cool is that he's 4 games away from playing the same amount of games as last year and he's pretty much improved each area.

Norris was a late pick also, we keep getting these stud catchers , deep in the draft.
