Oh...that's right, he wasn't worse than Dunn in the OF.  Very few people have been.  He's an unknown at 1B.  Of course, mentioning someone as an intriguing option means "let's go sign him" to the blithering idiots.

As I have said on one of the fine Redskins boards, some posters confidently make preposterously bad predictions. When in such a situation, those posters would do better if they tried to talk sense than if they call others "blithering idiots".

The problem with all the possible first basemen available (with the possible exception of Baerga and Dmitri), other teams are contending for too!  This is reason #58,795,393 (which is what I'm guessing payroll will be this year, in $ instead of #) why not signing Adam Dunn was such a bad move.

Mike Hessman, just for the non-stop "Dr. Johnny Fever" references.

It's going to be Carlos Pena, regardless of what know-it-all dipcrap Potomac Cannons says.

that's the guy Rizzo has been quoted by many, many members of the media as wanting, and Rizzo himself said that he loves Pena.  and Rizzo is very, very stubborn.

Carlos Pena will be our 2011 first baseman. I'll bet my avatar and name on it.

I don't think Berkman's knee is going to allow him to play much in the field. I think LaRoche would best serve the Nats.

Berkman is the next Giambi, not going to help this team.

Prince Fielder is on the market. Should we trade for him. They want pitching. Detwiller and and Zimm? Any ideas?

Prince isn't a Rizzo guy.  If Dunn wasn't, I can't imagine Prince being one.

Expect light hitting defensive guy.

I'd take Prince but I'd try to avoid dealing Zimm. I'd like to see what he can do after the surgery.

Can Flores play first base? Since the Nats don't need him at catcher anymore and it would be easier on his bad shoulder maybe they could give him a try.

Plus 1 on this idea.

Not that I like it, but it fits with Rizzo's inclinations, and Ladson called it an interesting idea. Since Rizzo seems to leak through Ladson, I would not be surprised to see Flores at 1B. He'll hit .260 with about 12 HR.

I wouldn't mind Flores at 1B. I think that could end up being a very good fit.

But if that's the front office's plan to replace Dunn, we are totally screwed.

Do.  Not.  Want.
