Did they give a reason why the closer was brought in the 8th?

No idea. Is it cause we have no one else reliable left with Bruney coming off a crappy relief show yesterday?

We want to win? He's our closer, this should be his game to win or lose.

Another call that the Nats' batters would have no chance of getting.

Most closers aren't 2-inning guys any more.  Capps is one who isn't.

Fair enough, but he was dominating the Mets the other day. He hasn't pitched in a while, and he strives for these opportunities. I like the move personally.

Nice Capps!

Should of gone 1-2-3, but I'll take the 4 outs anyways!

Good work Capps. Only guy on base shouldn't have been on base. Too bad that gets them to the top of the order faster.

I don't trust a one-run lead, in the bottom of the ninth.

If we score 3 more runs, it's still a save opportunity. Don't let up guys...keep adding to the total.

Wonder if they could get an out from English if they did get to Utley and howard?
