Seeing Lastings Milledge hit a walk-off for the Pirates makes me physically ill.

I can't believe how decent he seems to be playing.

He does seem to have found something in PGH - anybody else see "The Milledge People" on MLB TV?

let them enjoy him, I'm not saying we want him back, we still got the better end of the deal and I have NO desire to give up Nyjer.

Agreed, I hope both sides are able to reap benefits from the trade. That only bodes well for future trading with the Pirates, and possible fleecing to ensue.

Quote
08:03 AM ET 04.20 | After some unnecessary preening, Alfonso Soriano is on notice again. The Cubs  have lost three games to two of the worst teams in the NL, though if Monday is any indication, they may have to throw themselves into that same sorry group. They went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left 12 men on base. Another problem is the daily saga of [Soriano], who brought back the hop when catching fly balls that he said over the weekend he had ditched, and also stood at the plate admiring a long fly ball in the second inning. He wound up with a double but could've had a triple if he had run out of the box. Soriano wound up stranded at third. "He probably thought it was a home run, didn't he?" Piniella said. "This is a big ballpark. Yeah." Doesn't that anger Piniella? "I'm going to talk to him," he said.

Link for said hop? Sounds like an expensively hilarious quirk.

I didn't see one but I would guess it's the same thing he used to do here.

It's the same thing.

He runs up and does a little hop as he's catching the ball.

I'm surprised he hasn't missed more flyballs doing that.

Soriano has actually injured himself with the "hop."  It put him on the DL in 2008.

Darnell McDonald hit a two-run homer for the Sawx to tie it up ... as much as I hate the Boston dbags, I'm rooting for McDonald.  Still wish the Nats kept him around.

yup.  he's a back-up outfielder/AAAA player, but still think he's better than some of the guys we have in our system.

I know he had two great at bats... but why?

You sure do have some odd favorites.

He was a top prospect that never put it together.  Maybe he will with the Sawx.

Bernadina? :lmao: :stir:

Eh, maybe he is but not worth the "would haves" and "could haves" IMO.
