Yeah, agreed.  The problem is that sometimes you're posting something about a game that involves a divisional opponent, but your emphasis is on the other team.  It's too muddled - might as well just keep it to one thread.

So I said Atlanta would suck, but I also said the Mets would suck. Push.

Give the Mets time, they'll prove you right in due time.

Boston Red Sox catchers Victor Martinez and Jason Varitek have combined to throw out one baserunner so far this year.

Fun in Philly, today they recalled Lidge, sent Bastardo down, then recalled Bastardo after they announced that Ryan Madson was heading to the DL with a broken big toe (suffered "after" he blew a save last night).  I wonder what he kicked?

Fun in Philly, today they recalled Lidge, sent Bastardo down, then recalled Bastardo after they announced that Ryan Madson was heading to the DL with a broken big toe (suffered "after" he blew a save last night).  I wonder what he kicked?

Madson injured the toe after he blew a save Wednesday in San Francisco. He said he slipped walking down a flight of stairs leading from the dugout to the clubhouse. He then kicked a metal folding chair. He said he felt like he stubbed his toe, but realized it was worse when he woke up Thursday morning and had difficulty walking.

"Metal folding chair" wins!

These fools should have to forgo pay on the DL.

MLB Network would be 298437 times better if it didn't have Jon Heyman. :spaz:

3 - VMart 2, tek 1, Wednesday, on a pitch out. But yes, they are awful on steal attempts.

I wasn't counting pickoffs (my source is a Boston fan who posted the 3 tally and said 2 were pitcher's initiative).

Wow, I didn't realize Ryan Church was on the Pirates. Apparently he is competing for playing time with Lastings Milledge.

I always get the feeling that Church isn't a well liked guy. The opposite of guys like Morgan and Dunn.

I mean, I don't like him at all. Remember that interview where he was terrified that his Jewish girlfriend was going to Hell?

That doesn't make him unlikeable.  That just makes him stupid.

LOL, that was blown out of proportion.  He was asking that of a preacher who said that non-Christians go to hell or something.  More like: "really, you think my girlfriend's going to hell for being Jewish?"

I hate rooting for the Phils, but if they win, and the Nats win ... Nats will be tied with Mets for first place (but we are 2-1 against them, so we're in 1st place)!!!

It would not surprise me if Dice-K were to throw a no-hitter tonight against the Orioles in his return.

No.  You still have to root for the Phils to lose.  They'll get it going at some point, the further back they are now the better.  I don't think the Mets will be able to maintain.  Doesn't look like it matters today though.  Halladay's ridiculous.

Granderson injured during the Yankee game against the White Sox. Looked like something groin related. Early comments indicate it's serious enough for the DL.

Also, Vazquez continues to be flat-out awful for them  :hammer:

Phillies put up 10 on the Mets and the Braves put up 10 on Houston  :bball: Not like Halladay needed that kind of run support.

and Halladay still went 9 innings and threw 118 pitches.
