I didn't like the "Nationals Park" behind home plate.  We have all that beautiful stone yet they keep covering it up little by little.
+2.  I just saw it on Saturday's exhibition game.  :spaz: looks like crap.

it's advertising for the future naming rights purchaser. "think how good your name will look here in every camera shot"

it's not as bad as the advertising on the concrete barrier on a vacant lot on the 1200 block of H ST NE that in freehand spray paint font says "Call Ron 703 ###-####"

lots of places were out of food by the 3rd inning.  it was a joke.  flippin pizza and curly w pretzels on 300s were sold out.  doesn't surprise me, considering who runs the nats.

The stone > any signage.

The third inning? And I thought their running out of hot dog buns in the 4th inning at the 2005 opener was bad.

At least the Stella/Bass beer concession behind 305 appears to be here to stay.

I took food in knowing that the lines would be long on OD. They have been for the last five years so.

I never take food in but now I might reconsider. I spent $25 bucks on four 12-inch subs from Subway and  brought in bottles of water. Fed 7 seven people. I was a hero to my crowd once they saw the lines.

+1.  The lettering seems tacky to me.  I really loved just the stones back there with a curly W, that was beautiful IMO.

In keeping with tradition, I hear they're considering fielding a lousy team in 2010.

Ditto, I think it looks terrible.  I assume they did it to help sell naming rights by showing perspective buyers that their name will be on TV for every at-bat?

I for one, am glad they put it there. Take opening day for example... without the signage on the backstop, I would have thought the game was played at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

Anyone confirm the return of crab pretzels? That would drag me back to the park even for a Phillies game :spaz:

Not sure, but I heard those things are good.  Is it lump crab meat baked in the pretzel, or what?

And again, I don't care who the opponent is, I'd still go to a game if I had the chance.  I was going to try and go tonight, but unfortunately I'll be off right at first pitch and if it's post National Anthem, no chance I try and make the 20-25 minute metro ride and miss the first two innings.

An enormous hunk of lump crab, a ton of cheddar cheese, on a square pretzel base. The staff was even excited to sell them. There's still supposedly a crab sub that's the best value in the park, I'll be on the lookout when and if I get back.  If the baby is late, I'll go to games so that he can arrive in the 2nd inning with my luck

They've been AWOL the past couple of years since Levy too over. Used to be at Slice Down the Line on the 300's.

I thought those things tasted like a catfood knish, but perhaps I should give it another go.

What we really need is a crab steam shack with brown paper, wooden mallets, the whole shebang.

I'll go for this! Add heavy on the Old Bay, corn on the cob, a good beer selection, and blueberry pie and I'm set; might even watch some of the game. :D
