I think giving up HR will be a problem for Strasburg for a while. In college, none of the hitters hit those fastballs out of the park which is why he only allowed 5 in 3 years. In the AFL, he allowed 3 HR in one outing. That's another reason why he could use some minor league time.
Yeah, he might be kind of like Cole Hamels.

Kilgore:

Quote
:22: Stephen Strasburg is finished after four innings. After a first in which he allowed two solo home runs, including one on his very first pitch, Strasburg dominated. He struck out seven of the last 12 batters he faced and gave up just two more hits, both singles. He threw 73 pitches, 53 strikes. After facing adversity for the first time, Strasburg thrived. Cristian Guzman is now coming on to pinch hit for him.

I guess we'll know tomorrow where he's going right?  if they schedule him for another start doesn't that just about mean he's heading to D.C. given that they should be focused on getting the starting 5 set?

I created a specific album for Savior Strasburg. Watching him pitch got me excited about this team's future for the first time in like a year. It was so refreshing to see a pitcher with wicked stuff just make hitters look foolish every at bat. We haven't seen that since John Patterson's few awesome starts.

Watching his fastball paint the corner at 97 and then his slurve come in at 83 is awesome. Guy has the best stuff of any guy we've seen in a Nats uniform.

His total Spring Training output:

Strasburg's total pitching line for the spring: 9 ip, 8 h, 2 er, 1 bb, 12 k. 149 pitches, 97 strikes, 14 groundouts-1 Flyout (popup).

Wasn't that an infield pop-up?  That's the big stat right there - 14 ground-outs, no real fly-outs.

Sounds like Straus got pissed after the home runs and showed the Cards what's up. Nice!

didn't he come back after getting lit up in an AFL game and shut down the team he faced?

Yep.  Basically had one bad inning in the AFL.  That's all.
