I don't have a problem with it either. I just think it's stupid that the writer spends so much time dwelling on it in the article. Like I said..more than likely he was an O's fan.

yeah i was agreeing with you, i don't know why the writer was trying to make that the focus of the story.

Hearing some rumblings from people who have attended the games to see Harper, that he is throwing hissey fits on the bench. And that other players have PH for him, per the coach's discretion. Sounds like it might get interesting or dicey, whichever way you choose to look at it.

I'll give him slack at this point ... "he's just a kid".    Gotta work these things out.    I don't think the fellas on the MLB bench will tolerate more than one hissey.    Has a ML player ever had a "blanket party" thrown for him?

I have a very bad feeling about this kid.  I believe he will be a very good ballplayer, but from everything I've heard he is like a mini TO running around out there.

Granted I only did a quick Google search, but I'm not seeing any reports of Harper throwing "hissy fits" on the bench. If something like that were happening, I'm pretty sure it would be all over the news.

If you're comparing Harper to T.O. I'm guessing it's due to the work ethic and talent he has otherwise I don't get it. Sure the kid is extremely talented and perhaps gets a little pissy sitting on the bench but he's 18 acting like an 18 year old where as T.O. is 38 and acts like an 18 year old. Let's see what happens before we start wringing our hands.

Harper probably just didn't sign an autograph for CatsEye or accidentally made some gesture or facial twitch that CatsEye perceived as a slight.  He will forever be labeled a jerk in CatsEye's mind, now, just like that selfish jerk Adam Dunn who hit 2 too few homeruns both years he played for us.

How many times have we heard this about Harper, and each time his teammates/coaches vouch for him.

Talk about carrying a grudge....Holy Cow..You still can't get over the fact that I didn't worship Adam Dunn and kiss his feet everytime your idol's name was mentioned. And I brought up the fact you refer to - 2 YEARS ago, on this board, that Adam Dunn had only hit 38 HR, and not the 40 HR, like he usually had and was signed to do--that was 2 years ago - Again  2 Years Ago....GET OVER IT-DUNN IS GONE-HE LEFT MAD AT THE NATIONALS-HE LEFT MAD - HE'S GONE....Finger Up and a BOO to Him....
     And you're still a poo-poo face - Moosebreath..... :poke:

And I didn't see Harper's hissey fits on the bench, but scouts, and fans who went to see him, did see and hear some of it, and told me about it. I believe it. You don't have to.....but since when do you put a PH in for a guy who is known to be a good hitter, and is not on the DL or injured and is playing a position in the field.......maybe Harper was just too exhausted.....I mean he is older than 16 years old.....yea, that sounds like a good excuse....

:blah: Not worried about anonymous scouts or anonymous internet personalities have to say about a 18 year old's attitude.

You all misunderstand.  When Catseye said hissy fits, He or She or It ("H'orsh'it") meant to ask if this ballplayer could help, for Pete's sake!

Thing worth remembering: if Bryce Harper is sulking, that's a heck of a lot better than if he is Adrian Beltre.
