0-3 yesterday to break his 16-game hitting streak. 7-inning game though. He's at .310.

Thank you for the updates.

Thank you for the updates.

You are welcome. He went 1-3 today, with a 2B, 2 SO, 1 BB. Hitting .310. And a hitting streak of 1.:~)

3 more games looks like, scottsdale isn't in the championship, which is on the 19th.

Zuckerman is incorrect about that.  Harper is signed for four more years.  Coming up this year would not matter as to super 2, since he would be signed for three more years after that.  It's a common mistake local writers and fans keep making.

I would also add that under the new CBA the Super 2 status is likely to be different... IMHO.

Even Phil Wood and Mike Wallace conceded that he could be the starting RFer next April.

I'm convinced that had he played in the majors all of last year, Harper would have finished with a better year than Werth.

If a 19 year old does that, it would be pretty impressive.

I would expect Harper to do that though.

Bryce Harper triples off Baltimore boy Sean Gleason, now 2 for 3. Looks like this is a 7 inning game, so he finishes the AFL with a cool .333 BA.

Awesome, considering he started at 1 for 17 or close to that.

I bet Davey is smiling over this one.

I bet Davey is smiling licking his chops at the thought of having Harper in his lineup over this one.

I see this guy: http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/k/killeha01.shtml

who exploded the AL when he was 23, after being forced to spend two years on the bench when he was 18 and 19. Harper seems to be a better fielder.

Yes, this is about the highest praise possible.

Jason Grey - 10 takeaways from the AFL:

Quote
1. Bryce Harper showed he can make some adjustments

Two weeks into the AFL, Harper was flirting with the Mendoza Line and homered just once. His timing was predictably off due to his season-ending hamstring injury, but he was also overswinging and trying to kill everything. Then, he settled in, toned down the effort in his swing a bit and boom: five homers in six games, most of them more than 420 feet. His timing and the way he gets leverage were fun things to watch. It wasn't just how he performed, but how he was able to get himself out of a rut that was good to see.

How many problems would it solve if he was on the opening day roster- he moves werth to lead off (career .360 obp even after last years debacle) and you add another slugger

I cannot see any way he starts 2012 on the roster. The earliest I could imagine would be the beginning of May. One month of minor leagues gives the Nationals one extra year of service time before free agency. A tradeoff I'd make any day.

They could always do a longoria deal - extension is on the table, sign it and get a call up, don't and enjoy the minors

Harper's agent doesn't operate that way
