Sportsfan can tell you that I am pretty good at the heckling myself  If there's ever a successful meetup, a heckling competition is in order.

I ROOT for my team.  Heckling implies making fun of them.  The only person I heckle is the UMPIRE, telling him to put his CONTACT LENSES BACK IN!

What a great weekend! We were at the ballpark Friday and Saturday nights. It's going to seem like forever until the next home stand. Our next game is Saturday 8/22--the night of the Frank Howard bobblehead.

I'm with you there. During Phillies games you don't even have to bother heckling their players, their phans take care of that for us.

We were talking to one of the cops at Friday's game (he was on break in the Red Porch drinking pineapple juice), and he said the Phils fans were the worst, with Cubbies and Red Sox getting an honorable mention. Our conversation happened just before the D-backs' manager got ejected. As soon as that occurred, that cop booked it out of the Porch!

That looks remarkably like NotLD.

Someone needs to get an extra and mail it to him or buy him a ticket to the game.

Agenda for The Best Seat In The House on the upcoming homestand.

Tuesday vs Rockies - attend
Wednesday vs Rockies - attend
Thursday vs Rockies - attend
Friday vs Brewers - attend
Saturday vs Brewers - miss (conflict with both Redskins and United; will attend former unless rain appears likely - Yahoo! Weather currently predicting scattered thunderstorms - no way I'm walking a mile in the rain from Morgan Boulevard Metro for that, will opt for United in that case)
Sunday vs Brewers - attend
Monday vs Brewers - attend (unless something goes haywire at work)

Went to my first game in Petco two weeks ago, and both the stadium and neighborhood are just fantastic.

312/A/1 - slightly to the left of home plate, panoramic view, no obstructions. Only real problem is the somewhat variable beer offerings in that level generally (but the Urquell draught at the 'Base Line Brews', outer concourse roughly behind 314, has been mostly steady since the All-Star break).

Out of curiosity, why would you opt for the Redskins over United this weekend? I thought in the Six-Pack hierarchy a regular-season game trumps a preseason game, given that the latter doesn't count?

The constant stream of noisy, view-obstructing Bud Light vendors in the dugout seats is not appreciated either. Scoreboard Walk and Red Porch are my go tos.

In large part that's true, but in a few cases a first pre-season match can win out simply because it's been so long since I've been to that particular venue (in the present case, though, this is less of a factor since I was at FedEx Sunday-before-last for United vs Real Madrid).

What will probably decide my selection that evening will be the weather - there's still talk of 'scattered thunderstorms', and if that's going to be the case there's no way I'm going to walk a mile in the rain (and possible lightning) between Metro and FedEx to see Redskins pre-season (blast that stupid law that banned the Metrobus shuttles)...if there's even a chance of rain, United it is.

I'm in the 300's (gallery level, not field level) so dugout-seat Bud Light vendors are not a problem. In fact, apart from ice-cream/frozen-lemonade we get very few vendors of any kind in my section.

Also, I'm in the front row of 312 - effectively obstruction-free, except when people leave or return to their seats (not a problem). And how much of the Red Loft/Porch/Stadium Walk is all-access? I've never been there, and no two people seem to have the same answers (although I have seen secondary ticket checks on the staircase leading to the Red Loft).

It's all access. All of it. I sit all over the park, using coupon codes or Stubhub, and I always get my food from Teddy's or Kosher Grill on the main concourse, and my beer from the Loft or the Scoreboard Walk. In fact, the restaurant is all access, so at lightly attended games, you can sit at the tables and watch. With my nosebleed 400 seats for Saturday, I don't plan to actually sit in my seat. If you want a beer from the Porch restaurant, just tell them that's what you want to do, and you don't have to wait in line.

The only reason I was in dugout seats was I got them for 35 bucks for the Thursday day game from Stubhub.

Due to "special circumstances" I will be in attendance for this Sunday's game against the Brewers.
