No offense, but this doesn't make any sense

No player will turn down a #1 pick. Who gets the #1 pick? The team with the worst record the year before. If they want to be picked 20th, they should say so, but they will get far less money.

I am thinking of the Aaron Crow incident. I dont' want that to happen again.

Are we allowed to negotiate with Strasburg before the draft? (like in the NFL)

Well, probably not, it's not out of the realm of possibility that SDSU will still be playing in the regionals or super regionals when the draft takes place (which is generally right before the College World Series).

Why wouldn't the Nationals be in contact with Scott Boras?

I'm sure they will be/have been/are, but they can't "negotiate" with Strasburg until his season's over.

There shouldn't be that much negotiating. Probably little things but teams with the number one pick have the luxury of an extended courtship (for lack of a better word).

In theory, but remember who we're talking about here...

Scott Boras understands that the big payday is free agency. He clients may drag feet but he gets them signed. Boras is about financial security for the present and big payday as soon as possible. The longer you postpone signing, the longer you postpone free agency.

If only the Hendrick brothers had that kind of capability for logic

Boras isn't the one I'm worried about.

cliff lee remembered he was cliff lee. The rest of their pitching staff is what you would expect where cliff lee is your ace. The have two good catchers, but only can start one, mean while they have gaping holes at 1b, LF and 3b. That and their formerly roided up great DH if off the roids now and breaking down.

We're on a pace to Win 54 and Lose 108 in 2009!

:worship: :woop: :panic: :pimp: :ballbat: :koolaid:

Washington is 6 (six) games out of 1st place in the NL-East.
There are 7 other teams in MLB who are actually FARTHER behind their division leaders.

If we continued at the current pace of the last five games, we would win 117 games :D
