you gotta love the Orioles' pitching "prospects".

Tillman had a 5-0 lead and blew it against Detroit.

Arrieta gave up 8 hits, 2 walks, and 4 runs to the Nats' AAA team in 5 IP while taking the loss. He is really struggling and is 3-5 with a 4.92 in AAA.

beast. I hope they promote him quickly like Storen.

do you when Thompson is going to make his debut? He hasn't started a game since July 28th.

Man we have a lot of pitching depth.

Milone would be in AA in most other organizations but we simply do not have the rotation spots available in Harrisburg right now (Atilano, Arnesen, Meyers, Thompson, Mandel). That is a money rotation. We have already shifted Alaniz, VanAllen, and Justin Jones to the pen.

It might be time to bump up Arnesen to AAA soon because they are starting guys like Horacio Ramirez and Andrew Kown in Syracuse. Then you could move up Milone or Atwood to AA.

Milone is 7-4 on the year with a 3.50 ERA. 22 years old. has gone 7 IP in 4 of his last 7 starts.

yes the depth is nice although most project to be back-end rotation starters/long men out of pen. they could always surprised the scouts/fans, but going by their stuff that's their said ceiling. another reason it's important to lock up strasburg. that way we won't have to rely on the likes of AAAA starters anymore to fill out our rotation (mock, most likely martin).

btw, kown has been lights out in AAA as a starter. and yeah he's a grandpa by your standards, but at 26, he still has a chance to be something.

Kown sucks. He and Horacio should be dumped in favor of Arnesen and Chico.

who the hell's to say he's a bum just b/c he's 26 years old. look @ his numbers in AAA this year:

3-0, 3.52 ERA, 9 BB/17 K, .241 AVG in 9 games.

lemme guess stats don't count in this case right?

It feels like he's been gone from Vermont forever, but the Hagerstown transactions say July 27th.... But anyone see Juan Jaime pitch yet? He's gotten 1 start, and thats been it.

Hagerstown has had some rain-related issues over the past week. They had a bunch of games cancelled over the weekend, messing up the rotation

If he does well I wouldn't be surprised if the team called him up to start Saturday or Sunday against the D-Backs (and send Mock down).

any one know why Detwiler got pulled after 0.2 innings today?

Desmond goes 2/3 with a double with the bat today but also commits 3 errors (all fielding). He has committed 11 errors in 20 games.

It is just an embarrassment at this point. Why won't they shift him to second base?

it was like a two-hour rain delay or something. i have some friends that live down there and said today was pouring in the va beach area earlier.

We need a 2B-man now and in the future. why not move Desmond to second? He looks like a lost cause at SS defensively.

We can promote Morse to take the job everyday here for a month while Desmond experiments with it in AAA.

Hell yes.

In reality, it will probably be another Rick Short situation, where we are tormented by his complete dominance in the minors, only to get the callup too late to help and then promptly get hurt.

Espinoza: future star
Burgess: dont see the big deal with him..he looks tiny
Marrino: looked ok. was walked twice.

My question though is: Who is Michael Martinez? He hit a HR and looked decent. Is he in the team's future?
