I'm done with Adam Dunn. It's clear he doesn't want to come here and the last thing this team needs is a guy who just wants to get through his contract and make his money.

Forget Dunn, maybe look at Abreu, but otherwise, just get ready for ST. I'm sick of these babies in the free agent market demanding ridiculous contracts, and the Nats getting thrown around like a ragdoll.

Starting to feel like that - then again if he dogs it and only hits 30 HR's a year, he's still worth the money for us.

So if he really has other offers on the table can we really say he's treating the Nats like a ragdoll?

It's not necessarily Dunn, but all offseason has been "the Nats may be interested" (see Teixeira, Dunn, Abreu, Hudson, Ramirez) and we were downright abused in the Teixeira sweepstakes and it looks like we're Dunn's "safety school," if you will.

My comment was in general. I just happened to use your phrase to make my point.

I like the Astros' offense, and Dunn would fit in better with that kind of talent around him. I wouldn't take it as a "freak you" to us, just a smart move for him.

Plus he gets to play half his games in that little league field that they call a major league park.

I'm ready to go to spring training with what we have guys. We're not gonna win the series or anything, but I do see this team as being better than last season. I don't see another 100 loss season.

That's not saying much. You can almost be better than last year by default.

Lord, I went to a local park today and they were having try outs for the community baseball league today on the ball fields. Sitting on the bleachers, watching the players, hearing the smack of leather, the smack of a ball off a bat....I can't wait for Spring Training.

It was a giant mix. The try outs were for ages 4-17.

I never said you couldn't buy it. As long as you have enough allowance money saved up, I think it will be just fine.

I can't buy crap because they don't have any of the new personalized jerseys to purchase ... and that's my point, I'd rather get a jersey now than later.

Who proves what wrong?

I hope our offense can magically prove me wrong ... I'm not expecting a lot of offense this year.  Nobody really should.  Let's just  and cross our fingers.

If they have had an offer on the table. I'd like to see them put a time limit on it or have the total fall daily. One way or the other, Dunn or no Dunn; works for me.

You guys are all so emotional about this.  Enough already, stop being such drama queens.

If the guy signs a week or two or three from now, all the better.  Who cares if some message board weenies have their panties in a bunch because Dunn isn't kissing up to the Nats?

Maybe it's a negotiating tactic anyway . . .

I don't expect Dunn to WANT to come here as soon as we offer, but if we actually have had an offer on the table for a while (a multi-year one at that) and he doesn't want to sign with us, then he clearly doesn't want to come here. We should stop wasting our time and get ready for ST with the players we have.

Maybe I missed this, but where is the multi-year offer news coming from?
