theoretically, what if we don't sign Dunn, but we sign another hitter. like Abreu, or Manny(yeah right, no chance). I'd be fine with Abreu, to be honest.I'm in favor of signing Dunn, but I'm not quite in the "Dunn or 100 losses" camp.I don't think our team going into this season is a 100-loss team that can only be saved by Adam Dunn.I think it's a team than can be improved by adding another power hitter into the lineup, though.
OH NO WE SUCK AGAIN
I agree. I'm just hoping that Nick Swisher is not that other hitter.
Swisher is rubbish. I had him on my fantasy team last year. Complete bust. Just ask SoxFan59 about him. Swisher was just overrated by the BP crew (i.e. Actavation, Tomterp, etc.).
Yeah I'm not big on Swisher. Would rather have Dunn.
This offseason can't end soon enough. God this is so long and miserable.
Agreed. I'm so sick of the rumors and bullcrap.
Haha Crasnick says we could land Tom Glavine.
C'mon guys, suck it up, ya gotta be tough. We didn't quit when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor, did we?
According to Bill Shaikin of the L.A. Times, the Dodgers signed Yhency Brazoban and 14 others to minor league deals today.
WTF? When have I said crap about Swisher?
You have a "bo-ner" for the Oakland Billy Beenes and guys that hit .220 but draw walks so I figured Swisher would be right up your alley.

Bad news guys....the Dodgers signed Yhency Brazoban. I would have liked us to get him and Fukodome so we could hear Holliday say their names.
Yankees Want To Trade NadyBy Tim Dierkes [January 8, 2009 at 4:14pm CST]Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle heard from a good source that Yankees GM Brian Cashman wants to keep Nick Swisher and trade Xavier Nady. Would Nady make sense for the Giants at first base? Schulman doesn't think so, as the Nady hasn't played the position much and is unlikely to sign an extension with Scott Boras as his agent. Nady will be eligible for free agency after the '09 season.
Not ones who slug .410 at Comiskey Park.
Despite reports claiming that Manny Ramirez may prove to be too costly for the Dodgers, general manager Ned Colletti said Thursday that the club still has interest in the free-agent slugger. "We want Manny, and Manny knows it," Colletti told the Los Angeles Times. "We'll just keep talking and see if something can't be worked out." Colletti and Ramirez's agent, Scott Boras, have reportedly been talking since Friday about the 36-year-old left fielder. The Dodgers remain the only team to make a known offer to Ramirez when they offered him a two-year, $45 million contract in October before pulling it two weeks later. The market for the mercurial slugger has been virtually non-existent, especially after the Yankees, who were rumored Ramirez suitors, made a surprising move and signed Mark Teixeira. The Angels also were originally linked to Ramirez, but Angels general manager Tony Reagins told reporters two days before Christmas, "Manny Ramirez will not play for the Angels in 2009, or beyond for that matter."
