Wouldn't that be $13 mil per year?

Yep... learn math people!

I'd offer him 32M, 2 years if he'd take it... MAYBE $45M, 3 years. Maybe.

Yikes!  He'd jump all over that because that's too high in this market.  His perceived value is dropping daily.  I wouldn't be surprised to see him drop to $10m/3 years at the most.

MLBTR:

The Dodgers were among 12 teams who watched Chad Cordero throw on Friday.  The Mets, Twins, Brewers, Rangers, Tigers, Diamondbacks, and Nationals are among the other known attendees.

I'd offer Dunn two years and $18 million. That's about it though.

The-player-who-shall-remain-nameless is growing on me.  I'd be willing to concede that he may be worth around 11 MM/year is Burrell got 8 MM.

Of course the major problem is that he made 13 MM last year.  He'd be taking a cut in the prime of his career.

In '07 this was the designation we gave Jerome Williams.

In this case, I'm talking about someone who is slightly better than Jerome Williams.  Hell, he may even be a better pitcher than Williams.

You're lucky.

I probably wouldn't remember him at all except that I went to a home game against the Mets that he pitched 6 or 7 no-hit innings.  I also remember it because Glavine was getting close to 300 wins and we spoiled ESPN's drool-a-thon by losing in extras (so Glavine didn't get the W)

What about Vinny Castilla? One of Jimbo's better signings...

It would have been tough going the whole season without a thirdbaseman.

I never forgot Jerome Williams. He after all has the incredible distinction of being probably the worst National ever.

I second that.  We signed a guy who was traded and non-tendered by two different teams in one week.  And didn't we pay him 5 million?

That's the worst one.

For those who still have a hard-on and hope for O. Hudson, one interested team "has dropped out of the race":

According to the Denver Post, the Rockies have "nixed the idea" of signing free agent Orlando Hudson.
General manager Dan O'Dowd explained Wednesday that the Rockies "are committed to giving [Clint] Barmes and [Jeff] Baker a legitimate opportunity" at second base.

I was watching Hot Stove last night. Al Leiter said he thinks we get him. Harold Reynolds didn't think we were big market enough for him though.

Burrell took a cut too, it happens. Burrell is bad defensively, but Dunn is even worse. He's literally JUST a DH, yet he doesn't even want to play 1b. Dunn is looking to play OF from what MLBTR says.

This has been covered extensively - Dunn is far better statistically and anecdotally than Burrell defensively. And arguably a better hitter. You are wearing Dunn-hate glasses still.
