Well, bust my buttons! Why didn't you say that in the first place? That's a horse of a different color! Come on in!

HAHA also from rookie of the year.

Who cares about speed?  Dunn is just as fast as Tex, and much faster than Manny.

I think that the first four years of the Nats' existence have pretty much proven that speed is pretty overrrated. If it were as important as some folks make it out to be, Nook Logan would be an all-star.

Dunn hits 40 home runs, draws 100 walks and slugs .500 or better consistently -- there aren't many players you can say that about. In this market we have a chance to get a valuable player for a bargain price.

Sorry, It was games. 2 games as the #5 hitter. No PA. 2 Runs.

No problem.  Look, I'm kind of getting into it a bit myself tonight.   :glug: :glug:

Sam Adams > Brandy (ran out of Wild Turkey) > Beaujolais Village > Brandy again > now

I totally understand that sometimes incoherence is an acceptable outcome, you won't find me being judgmental on that score.

Dunn won't be real cheap.  Didn't he make around $13m this season?  Whoever said 5 x $10m was smoking dope.  Dunn's going to do very well.

I don't have a good feeling about Teixeira coming to DC.

Now I am hearing something is stirring in Baltimore for Tex. Something really big..like 9 for 180 or possibly 10 for 200 mil. I have said all along that I do NOT think Tex will be coming to Baltimore. I am hoping that I am very wrong. Despite the fact that I still think he is worth about 14-16 mill a year, and think this is insane money..I would go on record right now that if I was proven wrong, I would happily post the biggest "you heard it here LAST" post youve ever seen. Apparently Tex is a guest of Peter's at the Ravens game tommorrow...and they are going to take a physical on Monday. Please...let me be wrong!!!
This could be a huge signing for the Orioles in alot of ways...

nobody mentioned anything about OH.  I just don't have a good feeling.  Not as upbeat as I once was.

It's okay, Chapelle Show is on right now, that'll cheer me up.

You may be right. Peter Gammons thinks that he may have to settle for less per season than he made last year.

Given that it is a buyers market, if Angelos is willing to actually spend money, it only makes sense that he would sign with Baltimore instead of DC. He is from Saverna Park and his dad is an O's season ticket holder. The only reason he would sign with the Nats is if we offer big money and the O's drop out and being within a reasonable distance to his hometown actually matters. If the Os are in the mix, and he cares about location, he would sign with the O's. If he is looking for simply going to an immediate contender, it will be with the Angels or Sox.

If the O's go overboard and sign him, it wouldn't upset me. He's the hometown guy.

I retyped each word an average of about five times.  Just because I was hammered doesn't mean I don't have standards.      :-[

well, attending the Ravens game doesn't = automatic signing. he could very well attend the game, and then leave and sign elsewhere.

all that is is Angelos trying to sell Tex on Baltimore.  he did the same thing with Carl Pavano back in the day, and you remember how that turned out.

the Nats made their pitch when Tex was in DC a few weeks ago, now the Orioles are making theirs.

Nothing wrong with that TT.  We've all been there and done that.  Drinking and posting can be very dangerous, I love it.

trying to hype everyone up so he gets a great reception at the game.

still doesn't automatically mean he signs with Baltimore like the OH guys are assuming.

Tex being at the ravens game is a perfect way for boras to pressure the red sox to up the anti ... sigh ... baltimore and DC are not media approved destinations after all -- I think both DC and baltimore are getting played ...

yeah.  and the thing about it is, not like we're going to be a contender anytime soon ... if he went to baltimore, does he really expect to contend there?  the rays/yankees/red sox are all so much better - night and day - compared to wOes.

Exactly. Show is face to the big screen and get a huge response from the crowd. Angelos can play the "There's No Place Like Home" card. Besides most NFL fans would jump at the chance to go to the Ravens/Steelers game.

if 9/$180 is the offer, then let's come back and give him a better offer.  we all knew going in 8/$160 was not going to get it done.
