not special teams coordinators - not many become head coaches, and only a few shift to OC or aDC. Its a 32 team league, there are only so many available jobs

John Harbaugh and Marv Levy being the exceptions that prove the rule.

He's only been a Special Teams coach for what? A year or two? Prior to that he was an assistant. Who knows, but we need to find someone that can put kickoffs out of the endzone and someone that can return a punt more than 7yds at a clip for crying out loud.

Really?  50+ pages devoted to Skins football since last I checked in?  I love reading old posts but no thanks.  I will add this.  I have heard teams are interested in Kyle Shanahan.  You'd all be happy if he left town right?

Yeah, but mainly because I don't know how much of our issues stem from him or from his dad or the combination of the two, roster non-withstanding. I wish him no ill will but once again, it was time for the team to turn the page... sigh

I swear.   Up to this point, I thought you were writing about RGII/III.

You can say the same thing about Joe Montana's comments regarding Kaepernick.

Montana was a better QB than RGII.   ;)

Was RGII ever a qb? I really don't know as far as maybe HS or something? Not that it really matters.

Either way, I think Kyle might be a pretty decent OC, but he needs to get away from his dad and forge his name again.

Kyle seemed to have come to that conclusion late in the year as well.    One interview I heard had him saying as much.

Montana was the better QB but RGII was the better NCO.

He's never forged his own name - he started out under his father's disciple (QB coach with Shanny at SF, OC under shanny at Denver) and then he was under his father

So freaking what? I'm not a fan of his but just because his dad is who he is doesn't mean Kyle can't coach. He did a pretty good job out from under his dad's thumb and I suspect he'll do a pretty good job somewhere else. And if he doesn't, who gives a crap. Fact is, he'll get a job somewhere else in spite of the train wreck his dad created. That should say more about Kyle as a coach than his dad.

Well, if he succeeds, Snyder gets to point at Shanny as the whole problem. If not it was just a money-saving move.
