My only surprise was the 34 SB in 1976. My recollection of him was later in his career, I think, when he was really slow. And he played until 40 or so. He and Jr. were on the same team when he was 39, I think. Of course, this is all from memory. I am way too lazy to look anything up.:~)
My main memory of Ken Griffey is thinking, "oh, no, still more" after a team I was rooting for got past Joe Morgan, Pete Rose, Tony Perez, and Johnny Bench, and still there was this young guy named "Griffey" who would smash a line-drive into a gap. Ah, right...almost forgot George Foster.
