On campus, the Ds organized a group to support him and Chris Dodd, omitting Carter due to the mixed reactions to him on campus (lots of Kennedy and John Anderson support). Lost to Larry Dinardis, an R for whom Reagan came in to campaign near the end when things were looking surprisingly good for Rs. I think Lieberman next became either AG or secretary of state, some statewide office that eventually led to his Senate run.
