That's what my daughter said, "It's hitting the bend, no one really lives there..."
Closed the schools here in Orange County tomorrow.  Some risk of high winds.

We talked and I got booked onto the last flight out of Nashville tonight and they moved to make our half-day tomorrow instead. About to be a wild next 24 hours.

I mean they're pretty close, 3 years ago Mississippi was supposed to get Hurricane Sally but whoops! she went a bit to the east and we got walloped. It's all a crapshoot within a few hundred miles.

Trying to navigate a potential new job, a potential relocation (with a house, wife and two dogs) and keep it secret from my job has been killing me, so looking forward to figuring it out one way or another. It's a substantial career pivot for me, too (from video editor to marketing specialist), so that's daunting.

Tbey say the rules are no buses when winds over 35 mph and that is forecast for west end of county.

Yea I just know what's "forecast" is almost never what happens when you're so far from the action but again, better safe than sorry for sure.

Looks like the absolute worst storm surge is going to hit the Nature Coast, which is honestly kind of a best case out of a worst case scenario, given that it's the least populated area of Florida's coastline (aside from the area in the far south by the Everglades).

If this had veered just a little bit west, it could have been a massive hit for the same areas that were done in by Hurricane Michael just a few years ago (e.g. Mexico Beach).  Can't imagine what that would have done to home/flood insurance in those towns.

They showed a guy on Cedar Key yesterday who is going to stick it out. SMH. Luckily it’s appeared that most folks had left.

Lee is a monster. Some models showing 180 mph winds in a few days. Most models show it curving out to sea

They are showing that Lee will likely turn north.  Good news for the DMV.

So looks like Lee will hit New England and/or the Maritime provinces over the weekend. Hope cool waters lessen its impact.
