Good Counsel HS, Radford University ... I grew up the biggest terps fan and still am, but needed to get away from the area.

Yep. Real good start for Balester, especially considering the 3rd ER was a bloop single that was lucky.
Definitely. He's going to be fine.

Gonzaga alum here ('08) and new UMD student. I didn't wanna leave the area and UMD is perfect for my major so i liked it. Didnt know GC was single-sex.

Ill give it to Balester.  He is still a little rough around the edges, but he is most definitely improving on the mound.

see Balester is getting some love, i'm glad you guys agree with me.  In this bandbox and the fact we've left on what 8 runners thus far?  Brett Myers has 10 losses this year.  10.  And we have no runs to show for.  wow.

I think it may be safe to say that we have 40% of our rotation intact. They may not be 1 or 2 but that's beside the point. Now can we find a bona fide 1 and 2 to fill out our future rotation soon? And if so, how soon?

I'd say June of '09.

I guess what I should've said was when will they be ready to take their spot in the rotation? Besides, I know Strasburg is nice but I doubt he can pitch back to back nights.

By this time next year (or sooner), Strasburg should be good to go as well as Zimmermann and possibly Detwiler. Many others to look out for too.

25. 2006 6th round pick out of Long Beach State. High 80s-Low 90s sinking fastball with a sharp breaking curve ball.

its a late breaking ball too, good for strikeouts if you can get the batter out of his rhythm.
