The one Martis bounced into the outfield?

How is Martis sounding, it looks like he is doing real well on pitches (2x as many strikes) and GO/AO = 7/4.  Add in 3 SO and a walk, not a bad outing so far, it appears...

No no I was talking about the AAA game. The pitcher hit a sac bunt right? Davis? How'd he reach first? I'm only watching the gameday.

Damn, I didn't know Alaniz was a football QB as well in HS.  He got offers from UCLA, Colorado, and Baylor to play for them.

Not only that, he started out his HS career with a loss, then never lost again to finish 47-1.

He's falling apart as I post this. An error on a sac bunt hurt him. He tried to get the runner at 2nd but threw it into CF.

OMG. And then with the bases loaded and 1 outs, the hitter hit one right back to Martis who threw the ball home right to Montz and Montz simply just dropped the ball. Another run scored. Bases loaded and 1 out still. Bixler just hit a sac fly. 4-2 Indy leads. Errors killed.

Yeah, there are a lot of those types in baseball.

Looks like they have tried to switch Devin Ivany to 3B.  I think it might be his first game there, but he just had a sick play to get Alaniz out of the inning 1-2-3.

Baez led off the inning with a double, then Rhinehart drove him in with a follow up double down the line.  Rhinehart is 2-3 so far with 2 RBIs and a SO.

Zim just lined out hard to first base.

Bernadina is 2/2 tonight with 2 singles, Run, Walk, RBI, 2 SBs. Roger is hitting .455 (5/11) since being sent down to Columbus.

Rhinehart is amazing! I would so love to see him get a shot in the bigs this season. I don't think he'd embarrass (i.e. Bernadina  :?).

I bet Bernadina will get another shot at the bigs later in the season.  He just could not handle the breaking balls when he was with the Nationals.  Now he knows what he has to work on and hopefully he will.  I just don't believe that he is as bad as he played when he got the chance, I think it was partly he wasn't ready and partly some jitters.

Nice 1-2-3 inning for Martis. I'd like to see him go 1 more (7 innings).

It sounds like he would be a character player too, according to First Base Lady. I think he would be great for our ruined clubhouse.

I agree.  This is upheld by everything I read or hear about him.

Milone let up 2 ER and 3 hits in 5.0 IP tonight with the Lake Monsters.  The two runs came off a home run, but Milone also stuck out 7 guys with one walk.  He has amazing control, his only problem is that he is hittable, but he rarely throws anything but strikes.  I hope he can develop some pitches that will help him keep batters off guard, because I could see him as a really reliable guy out of the bullpen one day (he is a starter right now though).

After giving up back-to-back doubles, Martis is out of the game after 6.1 IP. 5-2 Indy leads.

Alaniz final stat line [6.0 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 2 SO, 104 pitches].  He got himself out of jams on three separate occasions, it is now up to the bullpen to give him his first win with Harrisburg.

6 IP 2 ER
5 IP 3 ER
5 IP 6 ER
6 IP 2 ER
6 IP 3 ER
6 IP 2 ER

Jeez, a little bit of control issues?!  The bullpen is about to blow it for Alaniz (Steve Schmoll, whoever that is).

Wow, the Senators dodged a bullet.  There was 1 error, 2 hits, they switched pitchers, the next guy walks the first two batters and somehow they get out of the inning without giving up a run.  They just need to make it to the 9th so they can bring in Carr.

EDIT:  Scratch that, Carr blew it.

It'll be interesting to see when the Nats activate him.  He's only struck out once and from what it sounds, he's hammering the ball.  The fact he has four doubles in four games is a good, telling sign he's able to drive the ball.

In all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised to see him activated tomorrow or Saturday.
