I'm leaving this forum. Hope to stay in touch with those of you who have become friends.

I wish there was something I could say or do that would get you to change your mind. You're a valued member of this forum and it will not be the same without you. We need your calm and level headedness (yea, I know, it's not a word) to help maintain the balance in this forum.

If there is anything at all I can do to get you to change your mind, please to be shy about asking.

We need your calm and level headedness (yea, I know, it's not a word) to help maintain the balance in this forum.

That's exactly what part of the problem is.  And those of you who have it have not been around to provide it lately.  The balance has been missing.  Folks have been getting blasted for just having a favorite player.  (Yes, me included.  It's gotten to the point of self censorship for a few of us-to keep from being blasted or as other would call it - bullied.)  But those of you who bring a sense of calm to the board have been greatly missed in recent weeks.  It's also you who help keep us sane around here.

Then we have possible trolling starting around here, too.  Fortunately PB hasn't been heard from since his "I'm here" post.  But we have Natsman back as the "reformed" bbq.  How did that happen and who is he for real?  She just has some concerns and questions.

Unless all of this "bullying" has been going on through PMs, I don't know what people are talking about. Over the last few weeks, things seem to be normal around here again. Someone disagreeing with what you say (even repeatedly) is normal when it comes to message boards; especially as more members join. Sports message boards have never been places where everyone agrees on everything and get along. If that's what people truly expect, then I don't know who lied to them. If you say or do things that others don't agree w/, you're probably going to hear about it.

I don't know why natsfan1a chose to leave because she didn't explain herself, but I'm willing to guess that it has to do w/ something that everyone has gone through on here, but it got blown up through talking about it a lot through PMs. I've seen that happen on other boards as well.

Natsman/bbq has been fine since he changed his name (and even before that except for that one incident). He's just young. There's no reason why he shouldn't be on this board.

Very sorry to hear that.  :( I'll really miss 1a's baseball knowledge and her welcoming attitude toward newcomers to the game.

We should come up with a list of the level headed and the not so level headed. That way it can be fully clear who provides sanity to the board in case anyone needs to seek them for advice or therapy.

A message board is where opinions clash, AKA "bullying" if it's the dissenting opinion. I assume "bullying" is seen as a weapon of getting your way or censoring other people. If so, I'd like to know if "bullying" comes in only one form or if it can have other ways of operating.

I was bullied once. So I wrote all my friends the same letter saying I was leaving them for a message board.

I remember a couple weeks ago I wrote in a thread that I thought people were getting a little bit too oversensitive. I was bullied for that opinion too.

Please don't beat me up anymore. You can have my milk money.

This I really don't agree with. Unless I missed something, I have not seen any "bullying," especially when it comes to having a favorite player. I have a favorite player, as do most of these people.

But back to natsfan1a - I don't know why you're leaving, but its too bad and you'll be missed.

I didn't initially use that word and neither did 1a.  But I have said the "blasting" was getting to be a bit much.

I don't necessarily think "bullied" is an accurate description.  I think it's more of a case of some people having a tactful way with words, and others not.  That can make certain things uncomfortable, including online message boards, and even if not the target, it gets tiresome and make a board not a worthwhile place to visit. But this board generally displays much more geniality than any of the others I visit.  There is nothing wrong with disagreements, and generally, most disagreements here have been handled quite well.  There have been some exceptions, and usually the same people are involved, but even then there have only been few that I've felt sophomoric or carried on too long.

I haven't been around much in the past few weeks, but haven't noticed any posts out of the norm on the times I came in for a quick glance (however, I am often know as Mr. Oblivious).  I did notice something Kimnat alluded to, though.  There are certain posters, who when I see their names have having been the last to post to a thread, I will always make a point of viewing the thread regardless of its topic.  Many of those people have seemed to be absent recently as well.

As for natsfan1a, I will miss her insights.  She lead me to some great books on scorekeeping, and even her own methods of doing so.  For that and everything else she shared, I am grateful.  Without exception, she always presented herself as someone I would love to have for a neighbor and a friend.

Boy, do I miss your postings!  You have such a way of expressing things so calmly, interestingly and clearly.  Sometimes, they're also quite funny!  I miss them, too.
