I just don't understand how people can defend him at this point. He is a disaster and belongs in the Minors.  He can't hit, he can't field and he can't run.  The comparison to Logan someone made in the GDT is accurate at this point.

I'm not going to "defend" him anymore.

screw the minors, just cut him. let Harris play CF for the rest of the season. Harris is much, much better than Milledge will ever be.

might as well.  he'll last about 2 games before everyone decides he's the 2nd worst player in baseball (with Milledge being the worst of course).

JMad, have you been watching the last few games? Even the announcers commented tonight that Milledge is swinging at everything and is looking to hit a HR on every pitch.  Milledge himself admitted after yesterday's game that he has A LOT to learn.

That being said, since Milledge is Manny's guy and is not going any where, he needs to move back in the 2 spot pronto.

have you been reading any of my posts over the past two weeks? I've been saying JUST THAT.  I even gave a reason WHY, and you blew it off as "just another excuse".

but it isn't a matter of him being young, inexperienced and needing to work through this, he just plain sucks and needs to go.  yes?

like I said, I give up preaching patience with the guy.

I'd like you to show me where I said that he was playing quality baseball and that he DIDN'T have a lot to learn.

you can't because I didn't.  I said we need to be patient with him while he learns, and that *in the long run* he'll be fine.

but eh, nevermind. screw patience, just let him go. he sucks.

kearns, dukes, and pena too. let em all go.

and heaven forbid Flores go 2 or 3 games without getting a hit.

So is Ryan Zimmerman, Jesus Flores, and John Lannan.  You don't hear them making excuses because of their age.

Zimmerman's had 2 full years in the league. Flores was up all of last year. Lannan played a good chunk of the season as well. Milledge has less experience than all three, especially the first two. No comparison.

LMAO. Flores was playing A ball two years ago. He hardly played last year off the bench.

Lannan was pitching in A ball at the start of last year.

Milledge has much more experience than these two.

People have made excuses for Zimmerman and some didn't even care that he has had a bad season so far (and leading the Nats in a couple of categories is nothing to be impressed about).

Other than a mediocre BA Zim has had not that bad of a first month and a half.  His HR and RBI numbers are respectable. He is still clutch too. He hit the walk-off in the first game of the season, had a GW-HR in the 3rd game of the season and yesterday had a GW-RBI double.  Another hot couple of weeks and his BA will be back in the 270s-280s range.

As witnessed by his .128 BA w/RISP

There are a ton of posts in the game threads that would testify otherwise.

I don't know what some peoples' expectations are for Zimmerman? .400 50 HRs 150 RBIs?

No but let's be realistic, he's been an absolute rally killer pretty much all season long. I can't believe you're letting the recent signs of perhaps coming out of the awful slump to overlook the fact that he has killed us game after game.

Those numbers sound like A-Rod's last 8 years except for 2004 and 2006 when he had "off" years.  ;)

How about not hitting .128 in clutch situations?

He has been miles and miles more productive than Milledge, Kearns, Pena, Lopez, etc.  People are overreacting just because he is hitting 30 points lower than his career average just a month and half through the season. Don't worry, Zim will be fine.
If you want to rip on someone, rip on Kearns for hitting .180 or Milledge for hitting .230 with 1 HR and hardly any SBs.

That's not good but he'll come around. He still is pretty clutch at the end of games like I mentioned earlier though.

Nope. I just believe in Zimmerman's abilities. I know he'll turn it around. I wish I could say the same thing for Milledge but I can't. I have seen nothing from Lastings that would make me think he is better than what we are seeing.

This isn't about picking on who should get ripped. They all deserve to get ripped. This isn't about figuring out who is the worst one and picking only on him. That's conveniently letting Zimmerman off the hook because he hasn't been as bad as Kearns or Milledge. Again, saying he hasn't been the worst player on the Nats is nothing to be proud of.

But seriously A-Rod's numbers are sick.

2-for-4 with 2 doubles and a couple of RBI last night.  I guess we can stop the gloom and doom talk now?  Perhaps he's gone from minor-league destiny to All-Star and MVP status now?

Nice to see something out of him finally. My only request:

Do it again.
