The A's beat the Sox to improve to 6-1 on the road this year.

The Yankees, in addition to adding Chad Moeller (cut by the Nats in spring training), have called up Jonathan Albadalaadahalahajo.

Greg Smith had a kick-ass outing.  Their young pitching is really developing quickly and efficiently.  The young arms they got in the Haren and Swisher trades are looking good.  So far, Dana Eveland and Greg Smith have already turned in good performances at the major league level.  Fautino De Los Santos and Gio Gonzalez look solid in the minors.  Add to it that Trevor Cahill looks really nice, and the A's are just stacked with young pitching in their organization.  Like him or not, Billy Beane might deserve serious commendation for those trades.

Joe Borowski is garbage.

And, not surprising, he is on my fantasy team.

I was at the game last night.  I can't understand why the White Sox just didn't choke up and slap the ball to the opposite field off Smith.  But, our team traditionally does poorly against lefty junkballers.

I will say that while I shed no tears over Gio leaving the Sox, Faustino is a future star.  That trade may come back and bite us on the back end some day.

Beane has a knack for finding diamonds in the discard pile, especially with pitchers. His arrogance as reflected in the "Moneyball" book is cloying, but he has kept the A's in contention for years.  The real trick with him is he does it all on a shoestring budget.  I look at other organizations that are traditionally successful, and they are all in the top tier in spending.

Make that 6-2.  The White Sox return the favor and beat the A's 4-1 today.

Detroit's offense has looked as it was expected to over the past two games. 10-1 they're up now in the 6th against CLE. Cabrera is 3 for 3 w/ a homer and 5 RBI.

Guess who messed up for CLE, pitching-wise, again? CC's line today - 4 IP, 8 H, 9 ER, 5 BB, 1 K, 2 HR. He now has a 13.50 ERA on the season.

WOW. That also assures that we have the worst record in MLB.

Well if this continues and we completely blow this year, I guess the positive is we get a very nice draft pick.

That's not as reassuring as in other sports, though. :?

My bad. I'm only seeing the negative side of things right now. I'll be back to normal within the hour.

Some sleep and a weekend of heavy drinking....I'll be fine.

LMAO, some no-name reliever from Toronto just came in with the bases loaded and no outs against Texas and got out of it without giving up any runs.  Sounds like something we would do.

White Sox beat the O's 3-1.  Contreras is starting to look like his old self again.

If you've never seen Ian Snell, he's pitching against the Cubs on WGN right now. He's one of my favorite young pitchers.

It looks like the crowd at Wrigley is more enthusiastic/into the singing of "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" during the 7th inning stretch than they are about the actual game   Reminds me of our fans and "Sweet Caroline"  :?

It's got to be nice to have a near-packed house for an afternoon game, though. Even when they're playing the Pirates.

Cliff Lee is whooping so far this season.

22.2 IP, 8 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 20 K, 0.40 ERA, and he's 3-0 after tonight's win.

That's domination.

And that, my friend, is the essence of Cubs baseball.

It's pretty crazy that David Ortiz is hitting .188 right now, but has 18 RBI!

Pretty huge that they got Granderson back.

19 runs...Jesus. That's close to a week's worth of runs for the Nats.
