Correction, 14-2. Garret Guzman hit a 3-run jack.

He's got 5 RBIs in this game already.

19 batters for the Senators have come to the plate, 3 pitchers have pitched for the Phillies, and only 4 outs recorded by the Phillies pitchers.  An hour and 3 minutes into the game.

Good to see Guzman finally starting to hit albeit at the AA level.  He just wasn't ready for AAA yet for whatever reason.

The starter for the opposing team, Kip Bouknight, was in our system in 2005 and 2006 bouncing between Harrisburg and N.O.

WTF is wrong with Adam Carr? He started the season out decent but he has been absolutely atrocious as of late. His ERA in Potomac is up to 7.25.

Here are his last 4 outings:

June 1st: 1.1 IP 3 H 1 R 1 ER 1 BB 1 SO
May 28th: 2 IP 4 H 3 R 3 ER 1 BB 2 SO
May 26th: 1 IP 2 H 2 R 2 ER 2 BB 1 SO
May 23rd: 2 IP 4 H 4 R 4 ER 2 BB 2 SO

Total: 6.1 IP 13 H 10 R 10 ER 6 BB 6 K

O'Connor with another good start: 6 IP 5 H 2 R 2 ER 1 BB 5 SO

He now has a 2.06 ERA and has 38 Ks to only 8 walks in 48 innings.  :?

He's not in our future plans though.

Awesome comeback by Harrisburg today. They trailed 6-2 going into the 9th inning and then put a 5 spot up on the board to win the game 7-6.

Mike Daniel hit a 3-run HR and Andrew LeFave hit the go-ahead RBI Single in the 9th.

LeFave could be a steal if he becomes worthy of being even a bench player for us in the ML's. We gave Ray King for him and then they cut King and he cameb abck to us.

went to the clippers game today vs the bisons. it was pretty lackluster. o'connor was pitching, he gave up a lead-off homer to barfield (who i can't believe isn't with the indians) to start the game. i thought he was gonna implode but he was solid the rest of the game. the clippers roster doesn't really have any worthwhile players. the pitching is a different story though with clippard, mock, and balester.

i'm tempted to go tomorrow b/c i think mock is pitching and i'd like to see what hes got, but it's a 10:30 am start and that's way too early for me.

Ugh. I hope he's not injured. He left the game in the 6th inning after only throwing 87 pitches. He wasn't in a lot of trouble either. There were 2 outs and 1 runner on first and he was pulled for Schroder.

Probably not injured. I haven't seen too many of our Minor League pitchers throw over 90 pitches.

I hope your right but I really can't see why they'd take him out that early.

Wow, Mock is amazing. He has given up 3 runs or fewer in 9 consecutive starts:
April 15: 5 IP 1 ER
April 26: 5 IP 2 ER
May 1: 6 IP 2 ER
May 6: 6 IP 1 ER
May 11: 6 IP 3 ER
May 17: 6 IP 2 ER
May 23: 6 IP 0 ER
May 28: 7 IP 1 ER
June 2nd: 5.2 IP 2 ER

If anyone on the ML club screws up there next start other than Redding, Lannan or Perez, then Mock should join the rotation. IMO

Bergmann is safe for his next couple of starts, and so is Hill unless he decides to go on the DL. Perez won't get sent down because they probably plan on trading him at the deadline.

The only way I see Mock joining the rotation is if one of our starters gets injured.

I think Hill will be on the DL before July. He has shown no desire to throw breaking balls.

Adrian Alaniz is $$$$. Another great outing by the young stud starter in Potomac: 6.1 IP 4 H 0 R 0 ER 0 BB 5 SO

What's the hold up? Promote Estrada,Van Allen, or Martis to AAA to replace Shell in the rotation and call up Alaniz to replace their spot in the rotation in Harrisburg.

Alaniz' Numbers in Potomac this season: 59.1 IP 44 H 20 R 16 ER 23 BB 54 SO 2 HR (8-0, 2.43 ERA, 1.13 WHIP)

Hill's been reported as saying he hasn't felt this good all season, but yet had no feel for his pitches, no break, no sink.  But he felt good enough that he might start being able to throw bullpen sessions between starts, the lack of which has prevented him from working on his breaking pitches in situations where he doesn't need outs.

So while he got hit hard his last start, he may be just now working past his pain issues and be on the road to recovery.  It would sure be a boost to the staff if he could get back to form.

Absolutely but we need to see actual results and not the same talk we have become accustomed to hearing from guys in this organization.
