Tom, chicory is a mellowing agent.

I did not know that.  Odd, I was just talking to my wife about chicory, as it is a flavor enhancer for New Orleans style coffee, and I was wondering if it were available locally in a form that was suitable for adding to coffee.  She did not know the answer.  Does anybody?

WTF is that? The Blood of Christ?

I've tried a bunch of different types of Sam Adams and I have to say its the most generic beer I have ever tasted. I really don't get much out of it except wet.

This is not water - it's incredibly expensive and you can only get it a few weeks a year.

That's one of those beers that Popes drink while picking at pickled parrot tongues served by eunochs on solid gold plates that are then thrown out the window into the river Tiber.  Wet is the only thing it has in common with Bud Light.

Who would have thought that a brewery trying for the first time to make a spirit, working with beer ingrediants, wouldn't be able to make a product as good as a distillery making the same thing for generations
