As some of you may know, I'm a senior in high school and I've been undergoing the college application process. After getting in my applications (all four of them) by December 1, I had a long and tedious wait to hear back. On February 1 I was supposed to hear from Miami University and UMD, but I only heard from Miami. I got in.

Needless to say, I was excited. I was finally in. 2 weeks later, I got into UMD. Not only that, but I got into the Scholars Program.

So, yesterday, despite not hearing from two schools (Syracuse and Northwestern), I officially accepted Maryland's admission. I got into the Merrill School of Journalsim, one of the best in the country, so I'm excited to get started. Here's to being a Terp in the fall! I'm so happy this process is basically over and I know where I'm going!

I hear that Scholars program is hard to get into!  My cousin wants his daughter to go there in a few years.  Congratulations!

She's always been advanced for her age and always a grade ahead.  Its not totally out of the question.  Its one of the choices.  Another of her choices was MIT. 

If you want to get in the special programs at UMD (I think her specialty would be computer graphics), you have to make the grades in HS too.
