I would take most of the position players on the Rockies over our guys, and some of the Padres. Tulowitzki, Helton, Hawpe, Holliday, Gonzalez, Greene...

Seriously.  You don't need to send a letter to Kasten/Bowden, just a copy of the Rockies lineup and all their 2007 stats.

The Rox quietly had one of the cooler use of music I've seen at a ballgame - they'd play the chord of Joe Walsh's "Rocky Mountain Way" after each out in the ninth, then playing the song for a win.

Unfortunately, more teams are just copying what works at other parks than coming up with new material.

Hopefully the Nats can put a little more signature music in the park next year :)

Yeah, if that was a homer, it would have ricoched off the concrete out in the bleachers and come back in - hitting the top of the wall and coming back in the field isn't a homer at Coors.

It would help if we can understand what we are listening to in the new stadium.  I hear the sound is supposed to be much better.

I hate how hitting the yellow line is a HR in Houston, yet it's a double in Colorado. How about some consistency.

You don't like the "Peanuts" teacher effect at RFK? ;)

Some of those intricate park rules are bizarre - don't forget, hitting the roof in Houston helped decide an NLDS game a couple of years ago because there are different rules in different for parks for hitting a girder.

There was a yellow line HR in the 18 inning playoff game with the Braves

LOL!  no not really.  :)

It would be nice to see an across the board rule about hits like that.  How come there isn't one?

What team are most of you rooting for? Considering I go to school 50 miles from Denver, and have been to Coors field over 100 times you probably know who I'm rooting for :-D
If the Rockies win, I get to go to a playoff game!

The Rockies are the undisputed Cinderella team of 2007.

I have Peavy on a Forum rotisserie fantasy team, (and this game counts) but I'm still in 1st place by 1 point, despite his horrible stats.  I have a friend in San Diego, but the Rockies are too much like the Nationals to not root for them, (as far as unlikely pennant contenders.)  This crowd will be us one day, in DC!

Since most parks are unique, there isn't a set rule for what's fair and what's foul - in some domes, you hit a girder and it's a foul ball, others the ball's live and in play. It depends on if the ball clears the yellow line, and in some parks, the yellow line's not quite at the top of the fence, so something hitting above the line is a home run - at Coors, the whole top's yellow, and therefore it isn't a homer unless the ball goes beyond the yellow part of the fence.

It's just a weird qurik, but since no park is really the same, they use different rules at each one.

I thought the same thing, but Manny said last weekend that Zimmerman's fielding has saved more runs than he's scored in 2007.  They must think that Atkins won't get another At Bat.  Carroll playing 3B?

Spiced Run commercial for a game at COORS FIELD.  Have they had any beer commercials?

We should have a rule at the new DC park that says "If we WANT it to be a home run, it IS... even if it hits the ground in the outfield several times...  But that doesn't apply to visiting teams, since Angelos gets 90% of our TV revenue."

We could just have a mobile fence that moves to the infield during bottom halves of the inning ;)
