The Nats are Tired!

Let's face it...the boys looked tired against the Mets.  Guys like Schneider, Carroll and Wilkie were DRAGGING.  And you won't win many games with your key hitters on the DL.

If the Nats take ONE out of three in Philly this weekend, I will be doing cartwheels.  You don't want to get swept heading into the All-Star break.

The good news is that NJ, Church, and Guzman (for defensive benefits) will be back in the lineup after the break.  Hopefully, Guillen will be taking his Paxil medication and he will have calmed down.  You know Frank benched him for his tirades against Loiaza and his bone-headed throw to home plate the other night.

Our bullpen looks beat too.  I think Luis Ayala's arm will fall off any day now. Guys like Carrasco and Majewski are racking up innings and I bet they are getting exhausted.  Chad Cordero could use the biggest vacation.  I hope the National League doesn't have to use him in Detroit.  I expect Livan to pitch one inning.

I never thought I post these words but I look forward to not watching or hearing the Nats play baseball for a few days.  THEY NEED THE BREAK!!!  A day off is like a "W" in the standings in my opinion.

All Star Break couldn't come at a better time...

Fortunately, they get the Phils at a time they're reeling, and I think they can at least take one win going into the break and ensuring they're on top into the new week.

Fortunately, the Nats that play next Thursday against the Brewers will be much more familiar than the ones who lost in 11 yesterday.

You have to remember, they are playing pretty much under the same conditions they would be if had a shortened bench. As it stands right now, once the All Star break is over and things get going again next Thursday in Milwaukee, for the first time is a long while, everyone will be there.

If you look at who will be available, and you include Zach Day, the Nats will have 27 healthy players who are all worthy (well everyone except Willie or Wontie Cordero) of a roster spot. With those number, even if two get traded, you still end up with too many players, meaning that three need to either optioned or traded to get to the number down to a 25 man roster.

I am afraid that some are getting on others nerves and that is not a healthy atmosphere for a ballclub that is not overpowering.  Hopefully we can get 2 wins in Philly and take a rest.

A couple of weekend wins would go a long way to revitalizing the team. They aren't accustomed to losing at home and three in four games to the Mets, even though with an incomplete roster, was hard on them. A couple of road wins will help turn things around.

Personally I'm hoping for 2 out of 3 against the Phils.  I don't know if we can do it or not, but I think we have a chance.  A sweep would be great, 1 out of 3 would be just ok, but not really acceptable.  BEING swept would be catastrophic.

Man, I was thinking the same thing, they looked kind of sloppy recently and especially out in the outfield some of the guys seemed to be just letting things get past them that they would normally snatch out of the air.

They will have played 13 games straight at the end of this Phillies series, and they do not have a great bench, especially with all the injuries.  Add to that all the close games and extra inning, long duels, well it gets tiring.

The All Star break may be just what the doctor ordered for these guys.

Even though they let the Phils back in the game tonight, I'm impressed with how they bounced back from the Mets' series to get tonight's game and give themselves a great shot at winning the series. Here's to the Nats!!

The title of this thread is so true.  That team is drained not only physically but emotionally.  The All-Star break couldn't have come at a better time.
