There are no excuses for Colome

Slow and inaccurate. A disastrous momentum killer. Please be gone. I am done with you.

Unless he reverts back to pre-butt problem form, I'd have to agree.  He hasn't been that effective.

I don't know when this mythical time of Jesus dominance existed, he's never been particularly effective at all that I have seen.

He got so many lucky breaks during the first half of the season when he posted good numbers.  What we are seeing now is what he has been over his entire career.  No control and no poise.  I can only pray that we never see that sorry son of a nag pitch again.

Holy crap.  What a fiasco all around.  If we had lost, I'd probably have grabbed a bottle of Scotch and gone to sit in the park with all the vagrants to mutter incoherently for a day or two.

Can't be a fiasco if it's a win ...

That's funny but it doesn't sound all that bad

I've never seen a guy pitch with a lead worse than Colome. It's one thing to be beaten by good hitters, but he just gives things away. Awful.

It's the best win ever. It raised the Mets fans hopes so high and dashed them completely. I wish Kearns had bobbled it a bit. Or dropped it and gunned down Chavez at home.

That is what is so perplexing...I should be ecstatic that we just a) beat the Mets in late September, and b) did so in a highly dramatic fashion, but instead I am totally out of sorts.  Guess I should be grateful that I wasn't a Mets fan at Shea...the Number 7 must have been a real joy at 10:50!!!  Ah, I'm feeling better already...

Hey Chief, I'm "timing out" after a minute, and have to log out and back in again...is time moving really fast right now?  Or am I moving really slowly.  Probably the latter.

I'm wating for Elias to tell us when the last time a team scored 6 in the 9th and lost. Their season is done. Phillies and Rockies make the playoffs.

I don't think the Phillies will make it.  I just can't see them winning enough games.  Against the Braves, they go up against Smoltz and Glavine after they've already lost tonight.

The Mets will back into the playoffs.

If the Padres lose, Phillies and Rockies are tied a half game back of the WC. This is wide open

Thats completely true.  I mean here we are scratching our heads and analyzing what went wrong IF WE LOST.  But imagine how the Mutts fans feel right about now.  On the Mutts board currently there is a thread titled:

"Manny Acta Should Be Our Manager"

LOL. Kinda makes up for the game two years ago when the Nats erased a 7 (or 8) run lead in the 9th up at Shea to take it to extra innings only to lose later on.

I remember that game. Schneider narrowly missed hitting a home run that would've won it for us in 9 innings. Instead we went into extras and lost it.

Now the question is: will Paul Lo Duca shave every inch of hair off his body so the Mets might not get swept tomorrow?
