what a devastating loss.  4 run lead with 3 innings to go and the bullpen chokes it away.  The offense got shut out 7 consecutive innings by one of the worst pens in baseball. Our bullpen has been absolutely brutal since July.

Ok, in my "category of losses" this is definitely embarrassing (the implosion in the 7th inning and no runs against their bullpen) and because it's a one run game that we COULD have won, it falls into the disappointing category, as well.

And the fact that Lohse stinks, this could also be considered a bad loss because that's a pitcher against whom we should win.

So, in total, this is one of the worst losses of the season.  Not the absolute worst, certainly, but still one of the worst.

It's nice just to be in games against teams that are so much better than us on paper. <---mr. optimistic's line of the night

Bergmann's looking like the K-Man we need going into next season. He's really solid when he's on.

and the Marlins tie the game with 3 in the 9th inning.. We couldn't score a single run in the last 7 innings against the Phillies' worthless pen.

Well the Marlins just walked off against the Mets so the Phillies are back within 1.5 games. I am sure the Mets are cussing us out right now for choking a 4 run lead.  We better win tomorrow or we just might get swept.  Suffice to say, this last week and a half should very interesting.

I started cooking dinner at the top of the 7th while listening to the game on the radio...by the 9th, dinner was an inedible mix of raw veggies, smashed habaneros, and uncooked chicken.  Ordered Thai.  WTF.

I'm going tomorrow night.  So I hope they don't get swept!!  Also, it would be terrible to lose the last one at RFK.

I don't even care if the Mutts and their fans are mad at us. You all know where I stand. I hope we split the series vs the Phillies and the Marlins take 3 of 4 and then that sets up  for us to SWEEP the Mutts in Queens and squash their season!
