You left at just the right time Ronnynat.. Everything went to complete hell shortly thereafter you left.  I still can't believe we let that game slip right through our hands.  If we go up by 8 we win the game, it was that simple.

lol..I heard. I had my brother text message me any scores. The only one I got was while I was just leaving and the Seahawks had just returned an INT for a TD. At least my basketball team whooped, 52-28. :?

One guy I don't think anyone's mentioned this season is Montgomery. He had a lot of tackles for us and he gives us a HUGE inside presence on that line. He'll be great for us in the future. That's one of the reasons I think it's more important we get an end instead of a DT right now. Daniels is done.

I really am glad that #21 coincidence stuff is finally over, though. I got SO sick of it over on ES....and on tv...and in the paper.

The folks at playoff party that we attended are blaming our host for tonight's loss. Things really went south for the Skins when TIVO Boy began running amock with the remote. That's what you get for messing with the space-time continuum!

Oh well, there's always next year!

Do you think Gibbs will be back?

I think he will, but it's not what I'm hoping for. I just hope it's only for one season.

I wonder how many times the "no advancing an on side kick" rule has negated a would be touchdown.  Its usually never an issue because guys just fall on it.  Wonder what the reasoning behind it is

I had never heard that rule before and was really pissed!  And we had 2 penalities we shouldn't have had either.  Unintentional contact that caused our guy to roll into their kicker and blocking their guy on the kick that rolled INTO our guy.  Those should NOT be counted as penalities.

I was so pissed that I said the hell with the flu and went out and got trashed. However, I gotta confess, I'm feeling like garbage now :? I'm going to try to stay up a while longer to try to sober up a little so I won't feel as bad tomorrow morning but I'm feeling a fever coming now so I don't know that it's going to help much. I'm an idiot and my Redskins suck. They played like garbage and yet still had a chance to take over the game and failed  :?

Because of what happened here earlier, I missed out on all the posts during and after the game (which may not be a bad thing) but I'm embarrassed about the way they made the playoffs only to revert back to playing like feces. They started the game playing cautious on both sides of the ball and it showed up in the scoreboard by halftime. They came out conservative and it set the tempo for the rest of the game and even when they got a small window to bury the Seahawks they choked and handed the game away. To me in spite of everything that happened in '08 this season was a failure. The hell with all the people at ES and all the ones that want to spin this season into a positive ride. Being satisfied by merely sneaking into the playoffs is a loser's mentality.

Cooley = Offensive MVP

Fletcher = Defensive MVP

Landry is going to be a SUPERSTAR and Montgomery is going to shut down the middle for a long time to come. Those 2 and Cooley are the only ones I feel sure about going into the future.

Did Portis ever get back in the game?  I don't think so.

I agree. I was so disappointed, especially after we pulled a "false hope" comeback.  Yeah I think we had a couple pages of posts during the game mainly from me and Ronnynat.  I was getting very angry during the end after Suisham's missed FG.

Joe Gibbs is quitting today. He was out of his league the moment he returned. The only thing I'm concerned about is who comes in and do they completely overhaul the offensive and defensive systems. And how does that delay the progress? He was asked this last night in the press conference and he said he wasn't quitting. I have a problem with a man that lies all the time as Gibbs has been prone to do in this go around.

I could only see us getting better now. This is exciting news! No offense to Joe, of course.

Depends on who takes over. They could do what they did in 2001 and try to erase the salary cap deficit by biting the bullet for 2 years but Snyder got impatient back then because as he phrased it he "wasn't having any fun". That jerk treats this like it's a fantasy football league. But whoever comes in will want his own people and his own system and his own players.

In Washington, instead of asking who is available to coach, you have to ask who would work for The Danny.

He proved himself with Taylor's death to be a decent guy. Maybe he's growing up. We'll see.

I think Joe's family is having some kind of crises too.  I know his grandson has Leukemia.  He mentioned last night, that as soon as he got back he HAD to go home and take care of some family issues.  He was very non-committal last night.  He wasn't himself.

Sad to see Joe go but it was time.  He certainly didn't accomplish what he came here to do (Win a Super Bowl) but he put this team back on the map and gave it some stability.  They have made the playoffs 2 of the last 3 years which again isn't the ultimate goal but it sure is hell is a lot better than they were doing the decade prior to Gibbs coming back.  I think Gregg Williams would be a fine head coach.

I think it'd be awesome to give Williams the name of Head Coach, but only if he also kept his job as D-Coordinator and Saunders kept running the offense. Or, we could get a younger guy that Williams could mentor into being the D-Coordinator.

Grimm would be a step in the wrong direction, IMO.

Redskins are interviewing Jim Schwartz for head coach. That's a new candidate.

I heard about that but that doesn't seem right. He was defensive coordinator in Tennessee after Gregg Williams. Could he be actually interviewing to become defensive coordinator/assistant coach and Williams will be taking over as head coach? Otherwise this doesn't make sense. Nor does it bode well for Williams.

Supposedly he's a numbers FREAK. He was the runner up to getting the SF head coaching job last season. That is odd, though, him being a DC and all.
