Interesting. Do they charge admission as well on top of the autograph fees (I've never been to one)?

Yeah they do.  The auto tickets are numbered.  They call out number ranges.  For example, "Ticket Numbers for Mike Bacsik 1-50 can now get in line"  As long as you have a ticket in that range you can get in line.  You don't have to get in line in order.

Its a business and I guess a lucritive one!

Thanks, I didn't know that! Does sound like a lucrative business.

Just bumping this up a bit.  Its this weekend.

I'm good friends with 2 of the dealers there.  So when I'm not getting autographs, I'm hanging out near his table.  He wrote the book Walter Johnson Baseball's Big Train.  He's Henry Thomas and is Walter Johnson's grandson!  He threw out the 1st Pitch on Walter Johnson Day last year.  He has copies of his book and will sign it for you.  He also produced (I think that's what his role was) a CD of The Glory of Their Times.  A great buy too!

Anyhow he sells some really old Senators memoribilia if anyone is interested.

Admission I think is $5 a day and 9 for the weekend.  Autos are extra.  There ARE some Senators signing to benefit Breast Cancer Research too.

If you collect anything, they have a few dealers who sell supplies.  You know.  Wide plastic holders for that Opening Day Program you want to keep PRISTINE!  Ticket holders, Pennant holders.....

Maybe I was a PR person in another life.  Hmmm.

I knew Ballsack grooved that pitch to him on purpose.  Now, the SOB is profiting off of it.  I hope to heck he isn't on our staff next year.

One person's opinion.  I don't think so. But that's my opinion.

To say a pitcher grooved anything I think is crazy.  It has to be in the precise place and the hitter has to hit it from the precise place on the bat.  So since all those factors have to come together is more coincidence than plan.  Baseball of course is ALL about precise positioning and timing.

The ball has to be positioned precisely in the right place for someone to hit it.  At the same token it has to be positioned precisely in the right place for a swing and a miss or to hit it foul as well.  The batter's timing has to be precise otherwise he misses it.  The fielder has also to be in the right place at the right time.

Everything is chance.  IMO

And the Nats are also having their minor leaguers play in the Arizona Fall League. Shouldn't they be required to have them work out in Anacostia Park? Why are they allowed to cross the borders? And look at all of those Florida license plates on the players' cars. Shouldn't they be required to buy houses in Capitol Quarter? Someone didn't get the memo. And why are they on Amtrak when they travel to Baltimore, Philly, and New York? Isn't the Old Town Trolley good enough for them? (Oh wait, those have Florida license plates too.)

Calm down everyone, calm down.  This news is peanuts compared to the big story:

This year, Washington Nationals Spring Training is being held in Florida!!!!

I agree.  We all know Bacsik is way too good to accidently give up a home run pitch to Bonds. If he wanted to, he could have struck Bonds out with ease.    :?
