Oh well, it IS a good opportunity.  What kind of job is it?  Is it one he can work over the internet from here?  At least for a while?  Maybe until AFTER THE NEW STADIUM opens!  Maybe huh?

Nice city, you'll like it.  Great skiing at Snoqualmie like an hour out of town, and boating galore on Puget Sound.  The Mariners will be playing the Nats next season (NL East vs AL West), so your true test will come June/July at Safeco...what hat will you wear??

Good luck, and have a blast!!

Wow, working for MS is not an easy thing to come by from my understanding.  Congrats to both of you if things work out.  It just means you'll have a lot farther to come for tailgates ;)

AS long as he takes good care of Erica I dont care if he works in the janitorial department.

WHOA! This is huge  (potential) news. I hope it works out for Matt. I understand from friends there that the Pacific Northwest has some great magnet facilities to work for. Keep us posted (wipes tear from corner of eye with a brave smile.)

FIRST OF ALL.. I WILL BE KEEPING MY SEASON TICKETS.

im not sure, what dept. matts old boss who hired him at the copyright office left about a year ago and went to microsoft. he is an attorney too. so last week he called him and said he wants him to come work for him and send his current resume. its not a done deal. but we should know a few things in a few weeks.

so second, my parents and sister live here in the dc area. they are in frederick, md.
so i will be flying back ALOT, and that means i will hopefully be back once a month or so!  so i wont be be a stranger.  i will be at opening day next year. so if we do go, we will be looking to sell some of our seats!

third,

i will not be a marinaers fan! im excited to see the nats on the road on the west cost!

and lastly,

you all would have a place to stay if you come for a visit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (im serious) :-)

At the very least, it'll be nice to have baseball games to keep you entertained, even if you're not a fan.  And, you'll get to see Jose Vidro and Jose Guillen at the games.

My aunt works for Microsoft.  Not sure exactly what she does, so, I hope to make it up there sometime in the year or so, hopefully next summer.  We'll see.  I'd have no problem adopting Seattle as a second team if I lived there.  Great stadium (from what  I've been told) and a fairly good on-field product most of the time.  Nat's #1 and Mariners #2 is not a bad thing at all.  Then you'd always have someone to root for wherever you are.

The missus and I went to Washington state for kicks a couple of years ago when Independence Air was flying nonstop flights from Dulles to SeaTac, and we rented a car and drove around the Olympic Peninsula and up to Mts Rainier and St Helens...marvellous trip.  I know from years and years living in British Columbia that the Pacific Northwest can be tough in the winter (rain, rain, rain, and more rain), but there is no place finer in the world in August.
