IN FAIRNESS TO WUSA HERE IS THE REPLY FROM THE TOP GUY AT WUSA:
MR. HORLICK: I AM VERY IMPRESSED by your courteous reply in explaining what really happened. I agree with you that your sports news shows are very good and especially very enterttaining , very witty. I enjoy those although I feel that the top two are not very good at acknowledging correspondence from viewers. Their wit reminds me a lot of Glen Brenner, the late ace of the staff. and I agree with you that the pre and after game show was top notch. again, thanks for explaining the facts to me.

Believe me, I share your annoyance but let me correct the record. The production and the transmission of the pre-season games you are referring to is 100% produced and transmitted by Comcast. The only role that W* USA 9 has is in taking the feed that is provided to us (and other stations in the region) just like we would take a feed from CBS. Furthermore we were in constant contact with them and asked them to run a crawl referencing the audio problems but they obviously chose not to. Likewise they could have had their on-air announcers make a statement but as you saw, that wasn’t done either.
I couldn’t be more proud of the performance of the W*USA 9 Sports and production teams who were fully responsible for producing and transmitting the pre-game shows each game and the post-game show last night. They were flawless and full of great content. In fact during the lightning delayed game on Saturday, the unscripted hour-long fill done from a stadium tunnel and grabbing players on the fly was some of the best TV coverage I’ve seen and it has been widely praised by our viewers and in the press.
Thank you for taking the time to write me and allowing me to give you the facts that you just wouldn’t know by watching the broadcast alone.
