True enough, the reality is that the better team is winning, but I can't stand the way we are swinging (or not swinging) the bats

He would be more appreciated by the fan base if he had a flat brim and a nickname :)

Colome can't get in to pitch soon enough - Rauch and Saul are just gassed ...

Jon Rauch needs to be moved to the end of the rotation.
He needs to be put on the DL along with Rivera and Chief.  They are all burned out.  Call up a slew of relievers from AAA, they can't be any worse.

Going into the homestand I figured we could step up and go 3-3, but this is simply a patchwork effort coming undone at the hands of better competition.  Hopefully we get back on track on the road trip but west coast swings aren't very good to us either.

This has to be a consideration for the starting rotation, next year.  We need pitchers who can regularly go, at least, 7 innings.

Our bullpen has pitched the most innings, by far, in baseball and it's starting to show, now.

I love how the Mets' scrubs have kicked our ass all weekend.  It hasn't been Reyes and Beltran and Wright as much as it has been Marlon Anderson, Damian Easley, Shawn Green, Luis Castillo, Moises Alou.  pathetic

Like earlier in the year this is one of those times to hit the road and get their hitting shoes back on in Houston and Colorado.  With Colome back then Bergmann and Bowie soon to follow they will get some pitching reinforcents.
The positive is getting another power bat in the line-up with Pena.  I love moving Kearns to center and keeping Church in the every day line-up along with Pena to see how they play out the season.  Lopez and Belliard will bounce back and they will start a winning streak with better starting pitching now that Hill and soon Bergmann is back in it.  Hill, Bergmann, Lannan, Hanrahan and Redding will be fun watching hopefully for the rest of the year.

The thing is, as we have seen all week, it doesn't matter how good our starting pitching is.  If the offense keeps hitting like @$$holes and the relievers keep choking we won't ever win any games.  Wouldn't be surprised to see us go 1-9 or 2-8 on this roadtrip.

Other than the 1-8 start, I'd say this is the lowest point of the season.

The relievers who've come back from injuries have to pitch more of the bullpen innings from now on.  Rauch and Rivera, specifically, shouldn't pitch more than once a week, in games that aren't in doubt.
