Bacsik had his third consecutive quality start and helped Washington defeat Cincinnati, 7-3, on Thursday night. Bacsik pitched seven innings and gave up three runs on seven hits. The key to success was following pitching coach Randy St. Claire's game plan, which stresses throwing first-pitch strikes. Bacsik did that -- and more. So efficient was Bacsik that he threw just 81 pitches in the game.

Zito has been a streaky starter all season, and in his last start it was the good Zito who took the mound on Thursday to clinch the Dodgers series. Zito went 5 2/3 innings, surrendering one run that he walked in before coming out with the bases loaded. He earned the win, but got lucky that the Dodgers only put up one run on seven hits. It was a much needed break for the pitcher, who had given up 13 runs in the 9 1/3 innings of his previous two outings.

I'm so tired. I couldn't get to sleep for hours last night (this morning?) after the game, so I hope I can stay awake. I have a feeling that we're going to pull a double digit pasting on them (and, oh yeah, Fat Ass will hit another HR....hohum).

Florida got hammered 11-1 tonight so if we win we move into a tie for 4th place.

Unbelievable. This woefully bad WNBA game is heading to double OT on ESPN 2. Tied at like 65 going into double OT shows you how truly bad their brand of basketball is.

I wanna watch my Nats!
