I'm pretty sure this can be said of a lot of the guys at this level. He just can't seem to get it together with any consistency. I think when he gets hit hard he reverts to being afraid of the strike zone and it gets him in even more trouble.

I pretty much agree with that assessment.  He doesn't have a lot of innate confidence, which causes him to try to nibble when things get tough.  But nobody on our staff can rack up the strikeouts like he can, as "whiff" goes Carlos Lee.  Confidence is a much easier thing to fix than it is to add 5 mph to Bacsik's pitches.
