The difference between Canadians and other countries, we embrace our neighbors, not make fun of them

Nah, the only reason you don't is because you guys know pretty much every other country has more guns than you do.  ;)

To make everyone happy, I vote we keep Logan on the payroll (cheap) and during games have him NOT on the field but behind the outfield wall on a raised platform running on a giant hamster wheel.

That way we keep him out of the lineup but continue to have people enjoy watching him run.

Excellent suggestion.

Pretty much? Hell, EVERYONE has more guns than we do, and their guns aren't army surplus.

I think the Nats should be patient until the off season and look at Eric Byrnes.  Byrnes would be a dependable five tool player that would not break the bank and solve our centerfield problems.  The Logan/Langerhans (.237/.170 BA) after this year should never be tolerated again never mind praised.  There is no long term loss if either were lost while sending them down.

Eric Brynes is also a beast defensive outfielder. See him all over Baseball tonight with catches.

I don't know about anybody else here but I've never considered Eric Byrnes even in the vicinity of a 5 tool player.

364 AB   14 HR .310 BA 50 RBI 55   RUNS 17 SB

How many more tools is that compared to Nook/Langerhans?

Oh so we're judging this by comparison. OK let's try this one, compared to Mike Bacsik, Matt Chico is a stud ace.

Not a comparable comparison at all.  Byrnes' numbers for midseason make him one of the better centerfielders in the game.  Chico's numbers do not make him one of the better pitchers.  The Nook/Langerhans combo is pathetic.

Byrnes Numbers are pretty legit. He's had some down years recently. But this year he is putting it together

I know nook has been basically horrid this year, but recently (in July, post baserunning gaffe) he hasnt done anything to hurt his situation.

In July, he's been hitting .304 with a .429 OBP and he's stolen his last six bases. He's raised his game in response to his job being in jeopardy while Langerhans has shrunk.  I dont think it is a foregone conclusion that he will be gone when Esco gets here.

If we had a legit CF, Logan could be more useful off the bench than Langerhans.  For the rest of this year Langerhans might be a better solution, but this isnt about this year.

Might have to keep Lnagerhans though. He is one of the featured acts of Hardcore Christian Day

My only point was that Byrnes is in no way considered a 5 tool player.

He needs to get hot so he can come up and be a superstar left fielder.

I wouldn't go betting in Vegas on that.  I am all for bringing him up and seeing if there is any spark to the offense but I am not expecting or depending on Alex Escobar to become a "superstar."  I would think its just "super" him finishing off the rest of the season and not getting injured.
