After watching many games, I am noticing some runners hand mitts are getting longer and longer with some even floppy on hands. They seem to be much bigger than for hand protection only. They already made the bases much larger. I know fans like scoring (soccer fans may be the exception) but the baseball game and stats are skewed. An umpire could check them after a walk or hit without delaying game.

I suppose these are becoming common enough that they are like the guards hitters use in the box. The armor got so pervasive that the league had to set rules. Otherwise, hitters were able to crowd the plate too much.

For baserunning, there probably should be limits on how much beyond the fingertips they can extend.

I guess the old saying " if your not cheating, your not trying" is alive and well. I suppose you could put them on partway to get an extra 3-4 inch advantage too

You got to be careful about baserunners that exaggerate how many inches their advantage is. Some will add an inch or more just to boast about the size of their gloves
