They’re talking about Game 5 from 2012 so here’s a fun fact: today’s home plate umpire, Alfonso Marquez, was also the plate umpire that night. I still hate him for squeezing Storen so bad….

Wow that's a fun fact indeed. Hard to believe that it's been almost 13 years

Found the game on Mets radio. Sims was the 21st overall pick, one ahead of Marcus Stroman.

We all love him but he is not just a mlb level option at this point.  It’s so sad we weren't willing to spend for a solid bat.

He's played in 25 of 27 games this season. He is .135 /.238/.292 in 89 ABs/101 PAs, with 4 HR and 12 RBI.

As of his 25th game in 2021, he was .154/.220/.341 in 91 ABs/100 PAs, with 4 HRs and 15 RBI.

It took him until his 33rd game to get above the Mendoza line, and after that his average slowly climbed, ending at .261.

March/ April stats for Bell:

2023: .206 / .305 / .382, 118 PAs, 3 HRs
2024: .181 / .269 / .284, 131 PAs, 3 HRs

2022 was the enormous exception.
