Legion of Doom 2.0 for 2025
« on: April 16, 2025, 05:10:20 pm »
5 games coming up against the worst teams in the NL, good chance to get to, or close to, .500

How many of those where we play ourselves?

Time to clean house in the front office and for Lerner to spend.  I’m not convinced Rizzo knows how to lead a player development organization and drafting has been terrible.  Used to be a fan but I’m done with this regime.  I’ve had the sunshine knocked out of me.

Sunshine: I used to be appalled at how many people gullibly bought into Rizzo's BS PR lies and cover for Mini Me's cheapness.  Now far more fans are realizing "reboots" and "rebuilds" were all nonsense, and that it's time to stop acting like abused children with zero expectations for ownership and the front office.

The ownership doesn’t care.  You’re screaming at the wind.

But we lead the league in concerts and bobbleheads...

Think the Pirates overtook us on bobbleheads after the Paul Skenes event

The ownership cares about the Pirates spending extra to provide 17,000 additional bobbleheads.  Bad precedent for them with a James Wood bobble coming up.

I might go on May 10.  They need an extra 15000 Harry Potter jerseys.

Worst run differential in the division.  With the Braves turning things around, season long battle for last with the Marlins can now get started.

The Athletic has us at 25 in their latest power rankings:

Quote
25. Washington Nationals (24.9)

Record: 16-19
Last Power Ranking: 23

Most impactful in-season move: Designating Colin Poche for assignment

The Nationals have an interesting young core, and they made a bunch of small signings this winter intended to help with their short-term competitiveness. But almost none have worked. Michael Soroka went on the IL after one start. Paul DeJong broke his nose in mid-April. Josh Bell is on pace for the worst offensive season of his career. Amed Rosario has a negative fWAR. Lucas Sims has a 10.32 ERA. And Poche was bad enough to get designated for assignment and clear waivers. Bringing back closer Kyle Finnegan has helped, but the Nats still have the second-worst bullpen ERA in baseball. — Jennings

Tonight is a low point. Fedde pitches a complete game shutout. Nats have given up 37 runs in the past 4 games. Rough.

Mini Me counts pennies, never mind millions, if this is the end for Rizzo, Davey, and Davey inept friends as coaches, I’ll take it.

Says everything, about our 2025 Nationals, that the lead highlight on nats.com (yes, nats.com) is Lars Nootbar drawing a walk...   ;)

Sims released immediately after last nites debacle not DFA’ed regardless of being owed the remainder of his 3 million contract. If I was Lopez and Ferrer I wouldn’t be sleeping very well for the next few weeks. And Bell you are probably the first position player to go with your 6 million contract. What a sorry indictment of Rizzo’s off season. Most of us were spot on the bullpen and Bells addition to the presently constructed 2025 Nats.

They aren't going to release Ferrer, if anything he'll get optioned to AAA.

On the way to rock bottom with owners who do not care. Basically we are now in the same class as the White Sox, Rockies, Marlins, Pirates, A's. Only positive aspect is that the lease with Nats Park ends in 2037 (could also be considered a negative by some folks on here)
