3 against Colorado. Can it get worse?
The average MLB team swings at about two-thirds of the pitches they see inside the zone — the Nationals (24-30) swung at 60 percent of them against Evans. The average team chases just about 28 percent of the pitches they see outside the zone — the Nationals swung at 37 percent of them. In essence, they made a lot of quick outs. And they saw just 98 pitches as a result. While these were slightly exaggerated from the Nationals’ season totals, they fit snug into a pattern. The Nationals are one of just three teams that chases balls at a bottom-ten rate (they rank 22nd) and swings at strikes at a bottom-ten rate (they rank 29th).In the eighth, Josh Bell drew the team’s first walk since Friday.
Everytime Bell is in the lineup it is like davey waving a white flag. I wonder what the Nats record is without Bell versus with Bell. Cut your bad decision Rizzo.
Apparently 18-27 with Bell, and 7-3 without. The "without" is a small sample, but that's quite damning.
Thank you. Much appreciated. No one should stay up to watch the game tonite as Bell is in the lineup. You are better off getting a good nites sleep. Screw you davey
