DeJong is a high K guy. It's what you bought when you bought the glove. If he keeps his average above .240 and hits a few XBH, then you are getting plenty from him
30-40% is a high K rate. Chris Davis in his worst seasons was still below 40%. DeJong's career rate is 27.7%. 50% is bad.

Note: I count by PAs, not ABs, since that denominator is a more valid measure of plate performance.

At some point, don't you want to give Rutledge an inning so he doesn't have too many days without throwing?

sure, 50% is not good. i don't think it stays there.

Rutledge just needs to throw strikes. walking Pages is not good.

27 pitches for Rutledge. Can bring him back, or could try Sims in low leverage. I'd bring him back and burn him for tomorrow.

All right, the Nats play so far convinced me to spend $50 Fubo for a month.   Hope I didn't jinx them!

Has anyone ever scored on defensive indifference?

I know the pen is taxed, but Rutledge really wasn't up to another inning. I liked what I saw in the first.

Does walking Barry Bonds with the bases loaded count?

I know there wins are tough on some of you.  Just hang in there and some losses will come.  Just sit back and enjoy Davely managing a master class.

I'm really going to enjoy James Wood being here while we have him. I know what's ultimately coming and it sucks but I'll just enjoy it in the now.

Hopefully the team will get new owners.  The only hope.

We're now clearly on course for a 117 win season - until we get swept by The FIsh... :D   ;)

For a lousy a manager and GM, this team has has records better than projected for the past 2 years, and may do it again.
